woke up too late to make coffee, but got the kenya specialty roast from good earth. it's aight, but i don't get the "hints of lemon" their marketing promised. like the card on the thing is basically saying HELLO THIS IS LEMON FLAVOURED COFFEE.

i do not want lemon flavoured coffee, but i also don't like the implication of lemon flavoured coffee.

[ASK] me about OS/2 Warp
i live out of zoom and there isnt enough office space to do my job properly so the ReTurN to OfFicE days will be a month or two of me cancelling almost every meeting i have on tues/thurs with "No meeting space available, sales bros reserved it all" until my manager has enough ammo to tell grandmanager to put me back on the waiver list.

Coffee status: drinking it.

make sure you get some good underextracted beans so the acidities can combine and become something greater

oh yeah I got an electric grinder sometime last year. I had been trying to grind a drip pot’s worth every day with my skerton. arm power took forever, and using my drill with a socket driver to motorize the grinding got old. so now I take out the electric’s grinds bin, make a little chute with paper/masking tape and just grind 2.5 lbs of beans straight into a big pot where I’ll steep the coffee

I splurged probably too much and got a baratza which is great and you can order/replace parts if you need to. but honestly in retrospect I kinda wish I’d gone with https://www.cuisinart.com/shopping/appliances/coffee_makers/DBM-8P1/ — Smaller, *much* less expensive, a totally decent non-espresso burr grinder. I had one years ago that I lost in a move, and my buddy’s been using his daily for at least 10 years without an issue.

but yeah before I got the electric I’d just make my cold brew with pre-ground beans. too much time/work trying to chew through a couple pounds otherwise
