I know this was a thing with Ronnie B once upon a time; what does he think of Ant these days?

Also I had a weird dream this past week, and a small part of it was a friend and I visiting the O&A studio. It was playing a ponderously boring all-Professor Anthony best-of, and the studio was manned by a distracted Opester and a wax figure of some Tunisian back-alley knife fighter.

EDIT: just remembered that one compound show where Ron showed up late and said "what did I miss, more cops vs blacks stuff?"

Ron talked about an inebriated Ant being escorted out of the club by Club Soda Kenny and didn't take his side, just sort of said it matter-of-factly. Ron's not as bad as Jim. I think the only loyalty he still has to Anthony is that if Ant hit rock bottom and came to him for help with his addiction problems Ron would jump at the chance to help him. I don't think even Norton would do that.

Remember how enthusiastic both of them were when Ant was going to rehab, before it sunk in that he had no intention of taking it seriously?

Also, Fez's niece has an OnlyFans now. During all the FezCon stuff The Bennington Instagram was linking to a few pictures she posted of young Toddy Boy aka Fez. Ron and Gail talked about her trying to be some kind of influencer so I guess this is the next step. It's linked right in her Instagram bio.

Today is the 8 year anniversary of the Bennington show and Ron talked about going forward they're doing like the Bonfire and going down to a two hour show (instead of 3) and 4 days a week. Ron said something about changing how they go into and out of topics and doing some projects separately, and I have no idea what that means. Then he talked up Stanley and mentioned something about how he's gone about as far as he can in his position, so I guess maybe Chris is leaving? I know he's been out of studio a lot lately either working remotely or just not on the show. Someone mentioned Chris and his girlfriend were taking part in hospice care for her mother, and that tracks with what he said about coming back from a funeral in Florida recently.

If you weren't aware, Gail and Jack (her husband) bought a house in the Hudson River Valley area north of NYC, with Ron and his wife also getting one nearby. They take the train in when the show is done in studio, but already work from home a lot, Gail more than Ron. I wonder if this is the start of the show winding down and Ron retiring soon. They never replaced Vito.

They didn't replace Vito because they pay loving poo poo especially for a job in Manhattan.

Not to mention they just laid off 8% of the company.

I think they banned him from the studio like they did Cumia.

Yes, and the company like a lot of companies makes an executive decision on certain employees who they deem unable to move up the chain any further. Going to bet he is one of those types of employees.

Beyond that though, the middle management never leave the company because they don't have to do that much work and get paid much better than the actual content creators beyond the talent.

The entire company is exceedingly difficult to move up in once you hit the plateau of show or channel producer.

He did a phone in during Bennington era I think.

Pepper Hicks was on the shitlist for some reason and Dave had been to see Ron doing standup.

I think he made some misguided "threats" around the time he left XM and that got him a ban from the building.

I think Ron has done more to address Anthony's problems than most people around Anthony, since Ron has confronted him about it a few times. I respect Ron trying to be a good friend and help instead of harm (although he is too loyal sometimes), and he probably realizes Ant is beyond help at this point.

I mean his Twitter has been entirely just insanely racist poo poo (like literally the most racist stuff I’ve ever seen on Twitter), but yeah he seemed like he kept his racism to Twitter and the rare drunken fan interaction, but holy poo poo. Also just lol at him getting so mad that he couldn’t even use slurs correctly, and accusing Nick Fuentes, famous anti semite, of ‘sucking up to Jews’. I’ve said this in the Redbar thread a couple of times, but surely Joe Rogan won’t ever have him on again, he’s going to slowly lose every somewhat notable ‘friend’ that he had. Also in the video of him talking about the bill burr thing, he starts off saying ‘my good buddy Jim Norton, oh I love that guy’ which I assume is because all of that made him realize he’s probably on thin ice with even him.

Ron did say back when Fez was on the show that he has done more radio than he would do radio, and this was over a decade or more in the past. Makes sense he would be thinking about settling down a little and enjoying his family life. It was a good run, might as well cash out when he can and maybe do what he really wants to do now that he has the time.

Plus, whatever remains of the old days is pretty much gone.

"I Dare."
I've been on a look up the funny radio show kick, tracking down classics as it goes, and I just came across Louis C.K. vs Paul O about his dog poo poo movie. That is one of the most brutal beatdowns I have ever heard on radio. It's up there with Ben Bailey at the Patrice Roast on just pure honest hilariously deserved cruelty. Say what you will about Louis being a perv, he talked about jerking off in front of women on the show all the time and it was always creepy and hosed up and when it came out in wider public I remember thinking "Man that took awhile! He's been talking about that on the radio for like decades!". However Louis speaking solely as a film maker to Paul and just explaining how nonsensical and bullshit his movie was in simple measured moments was perfection. O&A was a show full with generally monstrous people but drat that hideous cruelty occasionally landed some incredible moments and I'm happy it existed. Shame about most everything about them now but that seems to be how comedy/fame goes.
