Weren’t cephus and Moore both pretty important players?

For me to recognise their names strikes me as this being incredibly bad news

Whatever, clearly the Lions were not messaging properly on this stupid policy, so they need to take this for the warning it is and like, fix that. Cause if this happens again, they'll probably get severely punished as an organization.

Cephus was way down the depth chart at WR, he's not relevant.

Moore is a bit concerning because the Lions' secondary isn't in a point where it can really afford to take hits. The Lions signed him to a two year extension last month, so they thought he was worth keeping around!

Cephus was a pretty decent backup WR, but he was also injured a lot and wasn't a guarantee to even be on the roster at the start of the season

Now, if he comes back from suspension and then immediately gets injured, that would begin to look like a bust.

That feels like the starting point of a negotiation number and they would reduce based on Jamo being very apologetic and saying it's wrong, but let's be clear here it's total bullshit, as many have pointed out.

It sounds like he was out of the building but just on team wi-fi? In which case I can see them trying to plead it down, but also, the NFL has no reason to reduce these sentences after they give them, they want to set examples.

I haven't been able to find any real source on the wi-fi thing yet, though, just one post here and people chirping about it on twitter.

And I never said he was a 100% bust either! I said he was looking like a bust. Next time I'll strive to be clearer on a comedy forum - I'm deeply sorry.

Just for you: Jameson Williams is looking like the Lions wasted yet another 1st round pick. Their current WR depth is actually worse than anyone else in the NFCN. It's possible his career is able to recover but I'd bet against his development rather than for it.

If he was on the Lions’ Wi-Fi, the NFL probably audits teams’ network activity and finds it that way.

Jameson Williams has yet to have a mental break causing him to believe he is better than Calvin Johnson and run terrible improv routes nor has he passed out at an On the Border so in the grand scheme of Lions WR picks he’s doing fine.

That’s still stupid. He’s a first round pick and super talented, he will have plenty of time to learn and prove himself. Nobody even expected him to play last year! You might as well have called him a likely bust as soon as he was drafted if your criteria is “misses a bunch of games early in his career.”

One of the... several problems with this argument is that it ignores the context of how the Lions brought Jamo back. They were very deliberately bringing him back slowly to recover from his injury, and when he hit the field he displayed all the talent and speed that they drafted him for. It was pretty clear (in my eyes at least) that the reason he didn't have more touches was because Goff wasn't really comfortable throwing to him yet, as the dude is just so fast that every ball Goff threw ended up behind him. A full offseason (which Jamo will have) will help him and Goff get on the same page, and they should be able to hit the ground running once he's back from the suspension. There's certainly nothing in my mind that makes me worried that Jamo is gonna flame out, or the the Lions wasted the pick.

e: also he would have had an extra TD if this one wasn't called back for holding:

IMO Amon-Ra/Jameson is competitive with Jefferson/???, Watson/???, and Moore/Claypool. Like you can argue for separation here but I don't think it's clear that the Lions have the "worst WRs in the division".

Green Bay holds that title, pending the upcoming draft. Outside Watson, we have literally no one at WR (or TE) other than a Romeo Doubs who has flashed some promise in preseason 2022 and nothing since.
