As an afterthought I grabbed a 4L of vanilla ice cream last time I was at Costco. My expectations were low, if only because it was the only flavour they had so I assumed it was just something to fill the freezer shelves, but holy poo poo this is the best vanilla ice cream I’ve ever had. Island Farms brand if anyone’s interested. It might be just a Canadian store thing, not sure, but two whole thumbs way up. edit: ice cream

pentyne posted:Is that inventory accurate? The normal costco store website is dogshit for trying to find in stock items. Since the website is used for businesses to order stuff for delivery, I assume its pretty accurate. Unlike standard Costco it seems like their inventory doesn't change much so you're not going to end up with many seasonal items that sell out in a few days or weeks. My post earlier made me want to stop by there and since I needed gas anyway I hit it on the way home. I had suspected the prices on the website were marked up for delivery and I confirmed that was indeed the case. Not a ton, but stuff in store was 5-10% cheaper then the website lists it as. Weirdest find was 3lbs of bananas for $0.99. They're like $1.75 at normal Costco which already seems pretty cheap, so $0.99 seemed bonkers. They sell some hilarious quantities of stuff and its almost worth checking out just for the spectacle.

Costco Business has pork shoulders and giant cuts of stew-friendly beef (I've had luck with Special Trim and Sirloin cuts) at about 2/3 of normal Costco prices. There's a lot of stuff that's the same as normal Costco, but it really shines for large format stuff.

At church, wisely eating a pep slice before hitting the pharmacy and all the stuff I didn’t get last week. Any tips? I already killed a bag on the Tajín chicharrones and have T1W2Gs in the fridge, planning on the gyro kit and the bulgogi dumps . GF specially requested 4 chicken bakes for the freezer which is why I’m gonna lock that one in before too long

Omw there myself to return some Japanese sponge cake that was really disappointing. My husband and I have been really into the Zoa energy drinks, and I'm sure the Premier Protein Shakes are no secret to this thread but another case of those is definitely going in my cart. Ohhhh, and the Fit PB, the powdered peanut butter stuff, is really good for mixing into smoothies. I'm going to grab the vanilla ice cream mentioned above and get back on my peanut butter banana "smoothie" (it's a milkshake, I know) game. I'm a little sad no trip will compare to the one I made last month. Had my annual reward coupon that completely paid for my cart of groceries, found a crazy cheap set of chairs and a side table for a space in our living room I've been wanting to fill out, and then the cashier handed me $150 in cash for the balance on the reward coupon I didn't spend. Oh, Costco watchoutitsabear fucked around with this message at 21:39 on Apr 22, 2023 |

Those Asian baked desserts are either amazing or terrible, there is no in between, I'm really hesitant to buy any of them unless it's on sale or just looks amazing.

The return policy helps a lot but you're right, I've never tried one that wasn't just okay, it's only the top and bottom of the spectrum. Definitely pass on these. Edit: My Costco (Colorado) didn't have the vanilla ice cream but they DO have the Island Way sorbet cups in little fruit shells and those things RULE. watchoutitsabear fucked around with this message at 23:10 on Apr 22, 2023 |

I was at Costco today and they only had the 42oz Jongga kimchi. Didn’t even have a price tag on it or anything. Where’s the 84oz? I think the price ended up being roughly half so it worked out I guess.

I'll go without poking a hole in it, and my comparison point will be against the kimchi that Korean grannies make at my local lotte, so it's a pretty high bar.
