The vehicle stuff in this seriously looks so fun to mess around with. I normally don't really enjoy that sort of "creative gameplay" (I never did anything that interesting in BotW), but I love the idea of strapping rockets and fans to various things in different angles/configurations.

I wonder if the movable Zonai platforms reset at any point, or if they just trust you not to stick too many rockets on one and yeet it into a useless corner of sky you can’t get it back from.

age of calamity only really starts to flag in the postgame. there's nothing like hyrule warriors' hero maps, just another chockful of missions that often have outrageously high level requirements, especially if you have the dlc i've unlocked three or four new characters but there's not really anything to do with them other than run the same maps i've been running already

In BotW, pretty much all environmental things (trees, rocks, giant iron doors) get reset whenever you hit a loading screen or the chunk of the map gets unloaded, so I imagine they'll just come back if you trigger a warp of some kind.

Age of Calamity really needed some more character unlockables for the fighters, like alternate colors or even costumes based on older Zelda characters. Who cares about being lore accurate the game invalidated itself the first chapter!

I forgot how many drat mechanics there are in Warriors games nowadays. The Hyrule Field battle shoved like a dozen button combos at me in like two minutes! Impa has a totally different paradigm!

calamity isn't as complex as sengoku basara but it's leaps and bounds more involved than hyrule warriors, even if most of your combos eventually boil down to "tag enemy with stasis, destroy stagger bar"

They definitely make full use of every single input on those controllers. It took me quite a while to get fluent with it, but man, once you get into the flow...

The OLED screen on the OLED Switch really looks nice. That plus the slightly bigger size makes the portable visuals significantly better. BotW also just kind of looks better on it in general, due to the small screen making the low resolution and FPS less noticeable than it is on the big screen.

Defeated master mode Ganon. Wasn't too too hard stringing enough parries together to make headway on his health. A few lucky sword swipes got me some flurry damage in too. Dunno what's the absolute best way to damage Ganon after a beam parry but I just pelted him with bomb arrows from my trusty 5x lynel bow. Felt the more damage than run up and sword. Maybe ancient arrows if I didn't forget I bought a bunch. What else am I gonna do with my hoard of 200 bomb arrows? Come up with even more embarrassing ways to bomb myself shooting stuff point blank?

Nah 1 4 chaner has the collectors edition with proof but they havent leaked anything major. yet i dont think Some reviewers are playing the game too. Most of the juicy poo poo recently is coming from previewera accidently showing poo poo they were told not to lol

Not that I care that much about a Zelda plot, but I hope that thing leaked from the Collector's Edition is a good reason for why pretty much the most fucker-up resident evil ganon is normal again. Can't say I loved BotW Ganon that much, but his look was striking, and even in the clildrens' series where it's just one villain 90% of the time I'd prefer if he just perished as completely hate-obsessed monster and we were dealing with something new

Def been enjoying my replaying of Skyward Sword more than I thought I would. Except I just beat the tentacle boss in the pirate ship level and when Nayru’s flame was about to hit my sword the game froze and quit on me. And the last auto save is from before the boss fight. I’m so loving pissed.

winding down on age of calamity now that all the remaining missions are some variation on "beat all the bosses in a row, in ten minutes, while standing on one leg and rabid lynels gnaw on your armpits" still 65 hours well spent. for a map with so little "traditional" content, botw's version of hyrule has a really strong visual identity. it'll be neat to see how it's altered in totk

I just saw a Chip Cheezum run of BotW pop up last night so I watched some of it, it reminded me how good and distinct of a look the environment has. Really made me want to pick up the game and run around in it again. But I've gotta keep the experience fresh for when TotK comes out

I've been replaying since the last time I did a full run through was like 2020 and if I wanna remember who all is going into the Bucket Head Army I need a refresher. Plus it'll be nice to see just how it all changes when the basement goes upstairs.

I've been avoiding spoilers but I'm currently watching a playthrough of BotW and it's reminded me of one my biggest peeves that I'm hoping they've fixed for TotK: Can you save custom armour/clothing set-ups e.g. will we be able to quickswap to a climbing set or a zora set?

I hate fiddling around with equippables so I mostly just wear the strongest armor outside of something very specific like Thunderblight Ganon or hot/cold areas.
