The perks for ranking suck, have always sucked, and for some reason they don't make a new Legend card back for each season. Ranking in Wild should offer different stuff, but nope. Ranking is dumb. Get Legend once, get the card back you'll never use, and move on with your life.

There was a lot more skill involved in the game back before everyone’s hands were constantly being filled with randomly generated crap. I was curious how often expansions come out and looked up release dates. Hadn't realized they came up with new stuff as often as they did. Also, prior to picking this up again two months ago, the last time I had been playing, the most recent expansion was the Grand Tournament. Can't believe this game has been out for almost ten years already.  E: ooh, got a signature Mister Mukla this morning. And 16 common cards out of four packs that all went to dust.

Especially if it's a Death Knight since that's the new hotness. Bots also make dumb moves. Like a lot of them will pop the DK hero power and then just leave the ghoul on the board without doing anything.

The only other game I'd think of as being up in the "big leagues" is Magic: Arena and unless there have been some big changes since I played a couple years ago it is quite expensive to get cards in that game. Honestly they probably make a lot of money off the cosmetic poo poo they sell now, too -- none of that was available years ago, there were like 3 or 4 hero skins for sale and that's it.

They're competing with the wider sea change in how generous free-to-play games need to be to keep people invested in the economy, and games like Eternal and Runeterra are a reflection of that. (And also because they're smaller competitors and need to be more generous to draw attention to them in the first place.) The point is, the mobile market is big, if getting cards stops feeling good people will play something that does feel good instead, and the art of making in-game economies feel good has advanced a lot from Hearthstone's launch.

While I am very happy with the changes as well, they warned us that they would have to have more ads/cosmetics to make up for the difference in revenue. I’ve yet to see any ads, and honestly I’m happy for them to sell as many cosmetics as they want, cosmetics are neat and a good way to monetise the game without affecting the actual gameplay. If anything I wish they’d put some of the portraits that are no longer available to buy in game up on the blizzard store, there’s at least one that I’d buy.

I think I’ve settled on Tony Druid as my overall favourite deck to play. It feels really strong and I feel like I stand a chance at least no matter what my opponent is playing. Edit: wtf is this mill Druid I keep running into. It caught me by surprise the first time but it’s been an easy win every time since.
