Twilight might not always be ideal, but it’s fun taking creatures you’d never otherwise get to play with. (Also I think battles are a bad idea for RDW, except maybe Regatha which itself is burn. Seeing one of their creatures not attacking you feels so good from the other side of the board.) Any suggestions for what to replace Bloodthirsty Adversaries and Raijus with, if I want to build RDW myself but without the rares that are about to rotate? I was thinking Spellspear for the former. That’s what I “feared”. A good rule of thumb for assessing a card is how unhappy you’d be seeing it cast against you, and yeah from the perspective of mono blue the Jackal is way less scary (if it’s not protected).

That's why spellspear deck have 3 swords. I've never actually seen it being played though (possibly because of the 3 swords lol). I would assume it's a lot slower but grindier since the new phoenix is also a decent sword carrier, and warcrafting lets you play a maindeck sheoldred killer that's still good against smaller targets.

Aggressive strategies have been pretty potent for a while - I don't have a good memory for these things, but the loss of Blood on the Snow + Meathook banning really let them loose. Your deck is generating tonnes of 1/1s (Mercadia, Stormsculptor) and having them be unlockable is good. And yes I'd play boat over Moment of Truth. I'd also try to find room for the Great sword but I'm not sure over what. Maybe the Furnace Charger?

lmao when I was thinking "Are 4 Halo Foragers too many" the answer is no, I needed every single one of them to secure this win, including the literal Save from Death by Temporal Cleansing my own creature so I didn't deck myself lmao  Even if this stalls out before the trophy (one more win... or two more losses right now) it has been a good draft, format owns Edit:   Back over 60%... I unlocked that Squee and Saproling card from the Mastery Pass. I never brew my own, but I thought I'd take a hack at it in HBrawl and I cannot figure out what exactly I want to be doing. I tried just putting in lots of looting and 7+ mana guys and that went alright but I could just do that in black-red with olivia already. Squee basically wants to get cast, immediately die and come back bringing a friend. No idea how to build around a commander who only gets played from the command zone once.

this is slimefoot erasure the green should let you get some additional big creatures but also enough mana to keep activating slimefoot+squee's ability -- i wouldn't be surprised if there's an infinite you can build with how wide the historic pool is currently

It's very weird that they've not fixed the Caged Sun bug yet (if your opponent plays one, it completely fucks up your autotapper because it assumes that it applies for both players when it does not) when they've known about it for a year, and cards like Nissa Who Shakes the World don't have that issue. It's very irritating.

The fail-state of a lot of commanders is when you're having to pay aggressively increasing amounts of commander tax to keep using them.

Today's miserable draft: first loss was because 10 out of the 15 cards I saw were land. In a 16-land deck. Second loss was because they had multiple mythics. I forget what the first one was (not too scary) but then Vorinclex came out and that's hard to deal with. Third loss was because they played an early Sunfall, which I actually managed to recover from pretty well. Then a Kenrith. Then an Invasion of Ravnica. Just once could I get any of those sweet, sweet gamewinners handed my way? I'll change colors to play 'em. (Also if any of you were that last guy, congrats on your presumed 7-0. It's nice to steamroll sometimes.)

I mean, that's what mst hackers do with vulnerabilities like that? It's not like if he distributed the means of doing it publicly they wouldn't more or less immediately find out about it and patch the vulnerability anyway. Then ban literally anyone who ever used it. (I'm still genuinely surprised they haven't patched that set-release infinite money bug and hit everyone who took advantage of it, but i guess it's more or less impossible to tell who was intentionally abusing it and who just didn't know/understand it was happening)
