what's a really good, small-to-medium-sized pooper scooper in the style of this petco one, I have one of these but it's starting to break apart. might get another one, but if there's a more durable one that's similar that folks recommend, I'd go for that.

I remember seeing a brand of sticky mousepads, more like desk-stickers, for use on glass desks. Does anyone know what I'm talking about?

The brand I like is Wow!Pad but amazon's lovely search won't find that (try Wow pad microthin mouse pad). They may be no longer making them - microthin.com doesn't resolve any longer. Here's an ebay listing so you can see the logo:

Welp, my mouse died. I'd say this surely has to be the most common request, but I just searched this thread and the last time somebody talked about mouse recommendations was in late 2021? And the OP is looking pretty old.

I need something that lasts and can easily be taken apart and cleaned. I don't mind if it's a silly gamer mouse with all the bells and whistles and rainbow colors. I'm tired of going through cheap $10-15 mice just for the scroll wheel to slowly gunk up and the whole thing die in less than a year. I prefer a wireless mouse. I think I can go up to $50 if I have to.

That first paragraph was fun to read without paying attention to what thread i was in. Best advice i can give on a mouse is to go to a physical electronics/pc store that has a bunch on display and see what feels right - mice and keyboards are like clothing, it's all about how they fit the body

This, but https://www.amazon.com/Logitech-G502-Performance-Gaming-Mouse/dp/B07GBZ4Q68/, currently $45, was my home mouse BC (before Covid) and work/home after that so that's easy 8k hours of use before the left mouse button started to act up.

My daughter's trying to learn to play Terraria with a mouse and keyboard, but she's having problems with the mouse. I think it's just too large, so she has to use her big muscle groups in her arm to haul the thing around. I was wondering if maybe she had something smaller where her fingers touch could the desk, she could use the smaller muscles in her hand.

Basically, what I'm asking is, does anybody have a recommendation for a tiny mouse that's good for a 6-year-old?

I would try one of those travel mouses. It's what I used for my kid, very lightweight and smaller. Something like Verbatim Wireless Mini Nano Travel Mouse, Graphite 97470
You don't need extra money on location precision or whichever for a child.

To be contrary though, ideally you want low mouse sensitivity and a big mouse pad and bigger arm movements as it allows for more accuracy and prevents your wrist and hand from getting worn out. At least this is how adult gamer pros like to roll. Probably best to get the small mouse for a young kid :)

Thank you for all of the suggestions for mice - I ended up grabbing two travel mice off of Amazon and will see which one works. I also like the idea of dropping the sensitivity down and giving her lots of space to actually use big arm movements. Good idea, that.

New request. I have an Ikea Knappstad mattress that's been slowly sagging, for years. I picked up a mattress reinforcement pad but it's actually too much reinforcement. I wake up as if I was sleeping on the floor.

Is there a way to prop up the mattress a little without going whole hog?

You need something with airflow underneath to avoid mold/mildew on the underside of the mattress.

For the love of Christ, someone please recommend me a pixel 6 pro screen protector.

I was using the white stone dome protector, and while it was really good once you got it installed, getting there is an enormous pain in the rear end. I've installed it three times, with each package having two protectors in it. The first two boxes, the first protector was always sacrificial, because either dust got on the screen before I got the protector on, the adhesive didn't distribute correctly, there wasn't enough adhesive to distribute across the entire screen, bubbles on the edges never disappeared, or whatnot.

This most recent time, both of the protectors in the package didn't install correctly. I haven't been fist-clenchingly frustrated in years, and it was because of this stupid thing.

I tried to use some random company's zero-effort screen protector that I got out of Amazon, but it's garbage. No sensitivity, you can literally see the different thickness glass where the fingerprint detector goes, just garbage.

Is there anything out there which has sensitivity and durability, while not looking like trash and also not requiring the hands of an explosive ordinance disposal specialist?

In case you/other goons need a KVM, I'll recommend this one:

because in addition to sharing keyboard and mouse between personal desktop and work laptop, it also lets me share two monitors. I'm using the 2x2 HDMI version but that brand also has other configs and upgraded USB ports.

I ended up buying a bunch of Penzeys' blank jars because that was the most common one in my cabinet. Everything not in one got moved to one and everything is now uniform. They even come with blank labels for consistency!

I'm on the hunt for good coasters. I have some of the absorbent stone ones that work... okay. I also have non-absorbent stone ones that just turn into a condensation mess and/or stick to the glass when I pick it up. I've had bad experience with fabric and cork, although maybe I just got had some cheap lovely ones.

I just want something that:
- Won't spill condensation or leak through
- Won't stick to the glass
- Look decently attractive (I like the looks of my current sandstone-y ones but they seem to get sticky/lose absorption quickly)

Any leads are appreciated!
