Probably bad for any leftwing hopes as if Starmer can stand still and make gains then his electoral strategy is working.

They just chose to shed lots of voters because they actually believe there's no left wing people in the UK. Ultimately you're right because the press is telling everyone this is an amazing result for Labour so the narrative becomes the reality. It doesn't really matter that they pointlessly alienated a lot of people because the general public isn't being told that. So now what is Keith going to learn from this? Time to actually embrance even a single progressive policy? Go even further to the right to cause some kind of stackoverflow event resulting in infinite votes?
