they are extremely delicious but calling them biscuits is quite a bit of a stretch imo. closer to like savory scones or smth

well i don't have a recipe, and so don't have pictures. but if you search for "buttermilk biscuits" and look for the ones with good lamination that'll get you there. if you can see crumb it's not good

im more of a biscuit eater than a biscuit producer. though maybe i oughta change that. but biscuits ain't known for being trivial to make

the best biscuit is the kind that has a sorta lackluster breakfast sausage patty and a packet of grape and/or strawberry jelly

the best sweet dressing for a biscuit is a pat of butter and a bit of jelly mixed together with a fork.

part of the biscuit disagreement may stem from the availability of soft wheat flour; it's kind of a southeastern thing though you can get white lily more easily all over the lower 48 now since smuckers bought the company and moved the mills from knoxville to nebraska a few years ago. if you aren't using soft wheat flour you're either eating hockey pucks or canned pillsbury things.

the best biscuits i've made at home have definitely been those weird bags of frozen biscuits, but i don't think i've seen them in california. also never order biscuits and gravy here, it's always terrible. i don't get it, sausage gravy isn't loving hard, but it's like they just make a lumpy roux and crack pepper over it for two seconds. disgusting

this is definitely part of it, but the _other_ part is these drat heathens being unable to keep their know-nothing traps shut about biscuits when they don't have a clue!!!

you can get great b&g in california but you have to go to places that had significant southern influence from the great migration. great southern food is yet another reason that LA owns
