That’s about par for the course with Bill Cunningham. Huggins was probably loaded. Again.

I’ve heard it both ways, but typically from older Black southerners or in archive footage, not a white sportscaster.

I guess some people really just can't help make jokes at other people's expense. Even if this was just some plain old white guy, it's a lovely joke. People would get in a lot less trouble if they actually thought about what they were about to say, but I know that's hard when you're an idiot.

They could have kept Dan LeBatard instead if they had any sense

On one of the recent Skipper/Samson sports biz shows on LeBatard’s show, Samson pressed about what kind of people you’d cut during budget cuts, and it wasn’t your Stephen As or the like, because with high salary at least they were major contributors to the business (attention, quality, etc). Counter-intuitively it might make sense for similar reasons to get somebody like this to invest in refreshing the lineup, because he would probably be a draw.

The OTA isn't bad but it is hilarious that the Suns don't have to give a gently caress about Bally's anymore. It is more that Diamond bled so much money that they can't even contend with getting an OTA deal to recoup all their losses.

Edit: I was more laughing at the situation but yeah vvvvv

It was very insider trading. The Suns/Mercury sent a letter to Bally Sports that failed to mention they were looking at OTA broadcasters, and with Gray Television/Kiswe offering less money than Bally Sports it was fishy, given that Bally Sports is allowed as their current broadcaster to bid for rights.

“Those of you who knew her radio personality Phyllis Of Mulga may be under the wrong impression of her character, allow me to correct that,” her son wrote.

“The fire in her calls was always to pull for an underdog or to defend someone being unjustly attacked. She was the kind of woman instead of being buried in her breast cancer wig she adored, she asked me to donate it to a cancer patient in need. Her faith in God was stalwart and absolutely unshakable even in the face of disease and losing both of her daughters and her husband, my Father. She would rather give you something than keep it herself. She never greeted anyone with anything but a smile and a hug. The world lost a good woman today, but Heaven now has a warrior angel the devil himself doesn’t want to cross.”

Yeah, the judge's ruling was that the Gray TV deal violated Bally's existing contract with the Suns.

I think it’s actually Obama, and it’s a big city run by Dems in a Dem controlled state. Memphis and St. Louis are full of black people too, but they’re in Republican controlled states so it doesn’t fit the narrative as well.

It's both. Chicago is the city with black people, including their one specific boogeyman. They couldn't name someone from Memphis or St. Louis whatsoever.

Plus Chicago and Illinois as a whole have famously corrupt local politics that they can point to. But it is really fun to imagine them all pissing themselves in fear at the Logan Square farmers market.

After you take into account all the under-the-table money that prospective host cities slip to the IOC to try and grease the wheels in their favor, not really.
