the reward for beating the tempest is you get a Space Metro Junction to have to defend, in a game about 4X-ing all the Spaces

I think I’d like the junction if it actually felt like a junction and not just a place you blip in and out of. The way I wish it worked was that each L-Gate leads to an individual paired gate inside terminal egress (or better, a random system in the cluster), with them all spaced out equally around the system, so that to actually use the junction you have to traverse it.

Then possibly you can have galactic resolutions defining who can or cannot navigate the cluster (by default the owner and anyone with open borders to them, but adjustable to rules like “everyone”, “council members”, “no military fleets” etc.)

Paradox only lets you pre-order DLC when they're trying to shill some FOMO trinkets like extra music or whatever. So this not having a pre-order option is a good thing. If I want to listen to Ciao Bella in my HoI4 games I can just download a mod, guys.

And I think you're supposed to use it with smaller ships as well, due to the cloaking bonus. Which is of course good synergy,

These traits are really good and interesting overall.

Do we have patch notes yet? I want to know if they've broken the disruptor/missile meta that got introduced in the last few patches, or at least made kinetics useful again.

Yeah this wound up doing the trick for me, thanks.

So nice when there's a megacorp that spawns next door you can vassalize and harvest thousands of energy from, but maybe I should have waited a few years before necrophaging all the pops on their homeworld so they'd go along with Secret Fealty :v:

Can you mark sites/events as ignored by automation, besides blocking the entire system?

Just watched Monty’s review, and it’s just a series of “this is cool, but get hosed gestalts”.

Even the council mechanic is inferior to the one biological empires get, as you can’t get any of the really cool traits or stack your council to focus on specific areas.

Guess this one is going on the “maybe buy it on sale” pile.

Is there a good way to see what DLC you're missing with Stellaris, I'm interested in spinning up a game with the new DLC but I'm unsure if I've missed something major in the past while.

Look at the Steam store page and see which DLC you don't have?

Grabbed GC and immediately fired up a driven assimilator build. Should still be fun, they added plenty in this dlc.

Eh, Gestalts kinda deserve to get hosed a little bit. They've always been overpowered compared to the regular empires, admittedly at the cost of being less fun to play.

I wonder if they’ll eventually add gestalts to the core game so it feels easier to make expansions tailored more towards them.

The steam store page has a little blue line to the left of ever DLC you own.

Also if you're doing a full catchup and you're missing anything older then Toxoids you can grab the Ultimate Bundle which will get you a few extra % off.

Definitely seeing some bugs with this patch. Gather Information operations just cancel themselves out randomly and have to be started again, and I just had a 6k fleet lose to a transport fleet lol

FWIW that happened to me, I alt+entered twice and it was fine since then. Changing to borderless windowed would probably fix it too? It’s not that that mouse didn’t work it was just like acting at a different resolution than what was on screen or something.

Booted up a test run with my progenitor hive and it looks like there's some nice potential once I figure out all the ways to boost leader cap. The passive alloy income on ?admirals? is a pretty enormous amount of free resources to get for nothing early.

I think the escort command on ships is busted right now though? Seems like my offspring corvettes were dumping their orders to follow my science vessels every time they changed system :argh:
