I was musing the other day that I hadn't done much wrenching lately.
The universe was listening. And sent a GMT800 to answer the call.

I now own a 2000 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 with the 6.0L LQ4 plow truck with 237,000+ miles.
The frame is at least in decent shape and the drive train seem mostly fine. (severed EGR line aside)

Those stickers are most likely structural.

I'm sure this is fine.

Protective green death

This is probably also fine.

Free stuff!

The plow and mount are at least in good condition.

I did replace a tail light, want to be road legal and all that.

Guess I closed the door too hard.

This truck is so MURICAN it came with a .45 round.

I have already fixed a couple things. Like cleaning out the throttle body because that was nasty.

A little hard to see with the wire in the way, but the post the PO used to connect the negative cables for the truck and plow was way too long, so they needed to shim it.
They shimmed it by wrapping it with solder. Obviously, this was a little loose and had some issues completing the circuit.

This will most likely live at our cabin for hauling and plow duties.

We sold this to a friend about 5 years ago after our kids were born and we were living in the city. We then moved out of the city a year or so later and regretted it. Bought it back last week. Took it on the scenic route to town to get lunch today. Everything rattles. Also squeaks.

Nothing special, 1993 custom (super base model) with the 5.0 engine. Fresh tires, transmission recently rebuilt. Runs good but in need of a lot of love pretty much everywhere else, including 20 year suspension bits from when my wife put a lift on it.

Manual. It’s nowhere near as quick as the STs or even the faster ST-Lines but it’s nippy enough and pretty fun in the corners so far.

After considering cars like a RX8, S2000, a C5 vette, and a FD RX7, I settled on this Lotus Elise, because if I'm going to pay more than 20k on a car, I want something special, but not TVR imported to the USA level of special.

I hit the millenial dream. Home ownership + car ownership after ~8 years of NYC. :toot:

2005 model, 27k miles, track pack with dual oil coolers, wind up windows. has Nitrons corner weighted for a 200 pound driver (better start eating more), Evo Corse San Remo wheels I think in 16x7 17x8, needs new tires desperately, carbotech xp10 pads, arp studs, inokinetic shifter, sector 111 gpan, Act clutch with a fidenza flywheel, GAWR dash (this kinda sucks because the guy who made it disappeared off the face of the planet), some intake that needs a new filter, an even fancy diffuser, and a few other little things.

Immediate plans are to get new tires (A052s are unfortunately backordered with no ETA, might go for RE71RS), put a Nardi Personal in it with a quick release just so I can fold into it better, see if my old Bride Zeta 3 type L fits with a passenger in the car, and probably put an exhaust and remove the cat for track usage so it doesn't blow out. If I hit 4k mileage this year on the car before the snow comes, I will be happy because that means I'm actually driving it (I'm perma WFH).

Future plans this year are things like some better forged wheels from someone like Outer Plus Shimaya or some Ray's, a receiver that takes bluetooth, maybe put a backup camera on it because the rear visibility sucks, GRP V4 tail lights whenever they get in stock again, some Craft Square mirrors, and manage to hook up an oil temp probe to the GAWR dash.

No turbos, no superchargers, no 400WHP heartbreakers.

Took some time off work to play in the mountains. I've had a bunch of bikes and cars on the dragon/surrounding roads and I think I'd still take the 350 over all of them up there. Between the handling and the noise it makes from 4000-8000 rpm, drat. Highly recommend driving one if anyone ever gets the chance.
