Those are fun! I didn't realize Miickey was so much bigger than Peter.

That paint scheme is definitely familiar...

TLDR: Anyone know a good list of Marmit sculpts? Clubtokyo.org is great, but I'm not sure how comprehensive it is.

I need help, because my brain is made of cold oatmeal.

There was a Japanese maker that did a bunch of American B-movie monsters.

I'm pretty sure there was a Triffid.

I was also pretty sure the maker was Target Earth, but as far as I can tell, they never made a Triffid.

Marmit made a Triffid, but it's bigger and more detailed than I remember.

Maybe it was US Toys?

Again, brains of oatmeal, I could just be remembering wrong.

ClubTokyo is about the best you can get- I remember the Triffid as well but don't remember who made it. It was maybe 4 years ago iirc.

No idea what a triffid was, so I went to the google and started poking around.

It looks like there's one by KARZ WORKS that may have also been released or partnered with Medicom...? Is Marmit Medicom? Although, it was release in 2014 according to those links.

https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/karz-works-history-monster-triffid-sofubi-vinyl-figure/dc641919

https://www.previewsworld.com/Catalog/JAN148265

I did find that they also did a
Bihimos - https://www.entertainmentearth.com/product/bihimos-beast-of-hell-white-version-sofubi-vinyl-figure/dcl10172
and
Nyarlathotep - https://cjmart.jp/en/products/detail.php?product_id=2265

so sort of lines up with older monsters...

Best I could come up with. Am I right!? Did I win a no prize!?

Also anecdotal, but my wife and I both work from home. She comes out to get coffee while I am in a meeting sees the Nyarlathotep on my laptop and asks WTF I was doing. Told her "research", and she texted me this. Recently got formally diagnosed with ADHD at almost 40, and this is smack on, haha.

Official Failson No-Prize for you S.W.O.R.D!

You know, some day I should probably get checked for ADHD too, because... Yeah.

This really has to be me misremembering.

The only solution is to get more carnivorous plant figures in production.

The Karzworks Lovecraft monsters are really nifty. Just another thing for the list.

I was also wondering if there has ever been Zelda related sofubi.

Once again, Sega does what Nintendon't (make lots of sofubi from their games):

Those Altered Beast and Golden Axe pieces bring back the memories!

I've not seen any Zelda, but these folks did Sonic a while back, and are now apparently doing Mega Man: https://www.instagram.com/sofvips/

Edit: Oddly serendipitous, but one of the action figure guys I follow on Twitter posted a link to the Mega Man stuff for sale on amiami a few mins ago: https://twitter.com/FwooshVeeBee/status/1658461391328538625 Weird how stuff like that happens... Also, somebody give me a Wood Man!!!

Double posting, but on a separate topic...

I grabbed a couple more Ultraman sofubi off of ZenMarket, and they notified me that one of the ones sent was not the correct item, and they are contacting the seller. Interesting predicament, and not their fault at all, but I'll be curious to find out the resolution.

and I'm going to try to get pictures up of some recent pickups and the rest of my Wonderfest stuff.

Picture time! First up is a few things from Wonderfest / Japan that I didn't get photos of...

Passion Tank Shin Godzilla: this one was funny in a sense that I didn't care for the raw meat look of the vinyl until I saw it in person. Then it looked super rad!

Bandai Jet Jaguar - Snagged this little guy from a shop in Nakano Broadway. He's only about 2.5" tall, but goes perfectly with Ultraman Jack and Fireman.

Sunguts Megalodon: Pictures don't do it's size justice; it's huge! I love the transform-ability of it and the colors. While I almost always prefer bright and shiny I was really happy to see the one offered at Wonderfest had a sort of "oceanic" paint scheme. He just released on in gold glitter at a different show and that might have been the only colorway I would have preferred.

That finishes up Wonderfest / Japan. The tax man said I got a refund this year, so I did the obvious thing and got more toys!

Galaxy People Sensorbat: This is the first Sensorbat in my collection, and I was able to buy it off of our very own Gatos Y Vatos (Many thanks!). Didn't really have a preference on what color it was, but I really dig this spacey / nebulous color scheme with the contrasting red eyes! Pumped to add it to the collection.

Blobpus / Yanomark Sushi Kaiju: Not only was the Sensorbat mega exciting, but Gatos had the audacity to send along this super rad Sushi Kaiju which is made by Yanomark and painted by Blobpus (I think I got this right). I've looked at these a bunch of times online, but hadn't pulled the trigger. Love the metallic rainbow vibe going on here. Too kind and many many thanks!

Galaxy People Alien Jidd: Galaxy People had a sale of things left over from Superfestival86. Amongst those was this Alien Jidd, which is a new headsculpt in resin on a standard vinyl body. He's been making toys for about a decade so I was pretty jazzed to be able to get an inaugural offering of this guy. I also thought I'd grabbed one of each head he offers, but turns out I'm missing a mini Sensorbat (How did I miss that!?), so one more to go there.

Galaxy People Herod Interceptor: Another leftover offering from Superfestival86. This is also my first Interceptor, so only one more ship to complete the trio. Sensorships were also available, but sold out too fast. No Seflapod ships were up.

Any idea how often they add stuff? I've gotten into the habit of checking Mandarake for Firemans every day, but only hit Visciousfun occasionally.

Ha, we cross posted so moving my edit...but I've found in general it may take a while, but most stuff does tend to pop back up eventually. I've burned myself a few times hopping on things I had my eye on and thought were rare only to see them come up cheaper later. So if it's not in the cards now, it could be for cheaper later! :)

I made sure to grab a Janet UFO with a really strong glow swirl, it looks like you have a black light setup, and it will really pop!

The glow HEAP is a subtler, eerie, glow on the dome, I've never seen anything like it.

Marusan's output is absolutely relentless. There's a dude on the Youtube Channel YHS on Monster Island that's collecting the '89 Biogoji, and he's almost to 89 of them. He says he's going to stop at eighty-nine 89s haha. Madness! That's a sweet Hedorah colorway too.

Sofie Campbell designed my all time favorite Kaiju in Shin Eeyzon, and now she's got a new sculpt coming soon dubbed "Red Bite": https://www.instagram.com/p/CtIQBwWP_ZT/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA== Sculpt Preview: https://www.instagram.com/p/CmyEgAmsVi4/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link&igshid=MzRlODBiNWFlZA==. Shin Eyezon wasn't sculpted by her, but she's doing this one, pretty jazzed to see the final release. Sharks are cool and t-rex are cool! So shark + t-rex = super cool! Pretty sure that math checks out.
