First half of the season he was on a heater with 8.5 sacks (believe he was leading the league). And like, I know the front office wants to primarily invest in guys who might be long-term fits here, but if you cannot generate any pass rush then it totally throws off your ability to evaluate the rest of the defense. There's value in bringing in a reliable veteran DE (or two) even if he doesn't fit your preferred player profile, because it's hard to know if the young CBs are any good if they're stuck running around all day while the other team's QB camps out in the pocket

Yeah, I'm not particularly worried. They'll pick up an edge or 2. My guess is they want to go through OTAs and the like with who they have to see if like Dominique Robinson has gotten better or Trevis Gibson has. As also, it doesn't feel like the veteran edge rushers are in any particular rush to find a job right now. They seem like they are more than content to just show up at training camp.
