personally its kind of a relief that the MCU has been boring after Endgame so I don't have any worries about skipping all of these new movies and shows. it felt like the perfect conclusion with no need to carry on. kinda like if you stopped watching WWF at wrestlemania 17.

After Endgame was the time to get really weird and do a bunch of crazy poo poo because what've you got to lose and it's really disappointing that instead they just did a bunch of boring, samey origin stories and bafflingly long and stupid TV shows. I really wanted to like Shang Chi, cause it's like, okay, MCU is doing a kung-fu movie with some magic rings, that's cool. And it was for about an hour and a half, they did a decent little job telling this story about this dude and his kids and this struggle they were going through and the shared grief from the death of their mom and how they were all trying to fight their way through it with kung-fu and magic rings, and then they do an extended Iron Man 3 reference for some reason? And then they introduce a completely new villain out of nowhere and the last chunk of the movie was just full-on MCU CGI nightmare. I have a hard time recalling when I've gone from enjoying a movie to being so disappointed and annoyed with it more than that. That's when I kinda gave up that the post-Endgame MCU was gonna be worth anything. There's still stuff worth watching like WandaVision and Spider-Man and Doctor Strange but that's just the stuff that was already there, they clearly have no clue what they're doing with any of the new stuff.

I haven’t seen it but I’m guessing it’s because they did fake Mandarin in Iron Man 3 so not really that hard to see the some reason in a film that also wants to reference The Mandarin.
