The only Max Fun ads I've ever actually laughed at were the Jordan Jessie Go ones where they're talking to a focus group. And even those weren't that funny.

I listened to a few episodes of Dr. Gameshow back in early COVID. It was funny at times, but I didn't feel the need to subscribe or anything

Shout out to the Sneezin' Season in Philadelphia on this latest ep, can confirm that we are getting completely wrecked by pollen lately. I untied my shoes after being out this morning and a little pollen cloud came off of the laces!

It was weird when I realized that the "sounds like she is about to burst into tears at any moment" co-host of the gameshow podcast was the same lady as the "seems like she is about to burst into tears at any moment" girlfriend character on Joe Pera's show.

She's okay though, even if that is her entire shtick. That Eeyore sounding dude is far worse.

Kristen Schaal is arguably a comedy icon at this point, but I worry that she inspired a generation of female comics to go “what if I did a voice, all the time, forever, and that was like my thing?”

if she’s talking normally and Manolo Moreno is affecting an Adventure Time sleepy boy voice at the same time then that makes it even worse

Glad you enjoyed it! Much like MBMBaM, I would not recommend listening to the first 100 or so episodes for various reasons. I would say start around 110, maybe 120 at the earliest.

Comedians that use a different voice when they’re performing is the weirdest category of comedians. Larry the Cable Guy, Gilbert Gottfried, James Acaster.

The Flophouse episode on Cats is one of the most wonderfully unhinged and joyous things I've ever listened to.

I still preferred Travis to that one episode where John Hodgman started loudly humming music to get them to finish their recommendations like he was playing them off. And I LIKE Hodgman most of the time, I don't know why he came into someone else's house and started making GBS threads on it.

I know, he was rude to all three of them but not in a way I found especially fun. Like, I understood that Travis was trying to do the "everyone interrupts Dan" bit, he was just obnoxious about it and it fell flat, Hodgman's thing just didn't work for me on any level.
