THE PANTS ARE FANCY!
Feels kind of gross to post this because not many people have Lad and dark hawk, but here is the deck wwlos tweeted out and it's been doing really well for me. Two caveats are everyone in infinate seems to be trying out kitty bouce and there is very little Galactus so your milage might vary.

Sunspot
Korg
Jeff
Zabu
Polaris
Wave
Miles
Rockslide
Iron Lad
Darkhawk
Doom
Chavez

He says he did alot of testing and if you don't have darkhawk or Lad, sub in fantastic for Polaris, crossbones for dark hawk, night crawler for korg, salt to taste with other solid four drops.

The point of the deck is to play a strong 1-4, wave and Jeff on 5, Doom on six or chavez depending on how the chips fell.

Crushes Sera and Kitty decks.

Nothing makes me want to play this less than endless Galactus matchups. I understand it's choreographed and can be easily countered if you have the right hand, but like, I really don't understand how Second Dinner thinks this is fun or healthy or engaging.

And yeah, winning after Galactus goes off feels great, but the likelihood that you can beat the turn 5 Spiderman route, or the turn 6 Death / Knull route without priority is so low. It's never actually worth sticking it out to try.

I just don't get it man. It's such dogshit game design and it's braindead enough that I see it endlessly.

But they print new cards that beat galactus all the time which keeps the play pattern fresh. For example, we just got titania six months ago.

I have Galactus pinned right now at 5700 tokens and I'm not even sure if I should get him any more. I don't have Green Goblin, Doc Ock, Death... But I'm not even sure what I would get otherwise, Zabu is dropping eventually and I don't have Black Bolt or Rockslide so Stature/Darkhawk isn't gonna fly with me. All the cards I really want are in pool 3 anyway.

Oh, I love Killmonger in the deck - I've taken a list that's 11/12 of the same cards to infinite the previous two seasons (I switched out Hulk for Death) and Killmonger's been a hero throughout.

So far the Kitty losses have been in games where I haven't had the combo and they've done something solid with Bishop/Angela/a bounced double Wolfsbane or something, but I'm definitely net negative cubes against it even with Killmonger

Ugh. I really hate The Milano location.

I don't think the game needed another really restrictive location, with the location pool it has now.

Getting two super restrictive locations in the same match is maddening.

frustrations about the broader prevalence of restrictive locations aside (esp when one is a hot location), the milano is actually a well-designed/good restrictive location imo, because it introduces significant gameplay decisions for any deck more or less regardless of what they're playing

some decks are obviously better into it, but it's way better than something like Plunder Castle or Sandbar where certain archetypes are more or less handed free wins/losses

For me I got Infinite with Galactus but only after getting Knull. GG is decent with it but otherwise DOct. and Death are completely needed for success.

You might not want to hear this but I love playing against Galactus decks. Free cubes for the most part (other than the Spiderman lineup--that poo poo can get hosed). Edit: oh, running Polaris constantly is probably a contributor to what I just said. Open lane? Yeah, I'm going to move some poo poo there.

I don't feel like doing it, but a goon poll would be fun for what cards people hate the most. I don't feel the Galactus hate but I really don't like Patriot.

Zabu absolutely sucked rear end pre nerf, and I bought the card. I was still very early into Pool 3 then, so Zabu and Surfer and Sera carried me that season but I always got wiped in mirror matches.

Probably a ramp deck going off poorly. The idea is to play Electro or Wave on t3 then a 6/5/6 or 5/6/6 series of drops on the last half of the game. Doom is usually one of the 6 drop cards, who pairs well with Odin as the second 6 drop.

Arnim as well. The deck either does Doom + Odin/Arnim or Leader + Odin/Arnim, with a Cap Marvel in the 5 slot.

Also with card effects where they can get bigger effects depending on circumstances, e.g. Darkhawk when they’ve used Korg and Rockslide, they do their on reveal card on Wong, their Onslaught hits all their ongoing a they prepped, their Patriot buffs the load of basic cards they laid down, etc

Deck chat:

Learning a deck or decks is very important, but I switch decks a lot to keep me from getting tilted. So far this season I've played Patriot, MODOK discard, Nimrod Destroyer, Bounce, Sera Flood, Negative, Move, Sandman Ramp and Attuma Lockdown. Right now I'm playing with my new toy Thanos. My ADHD literally will not let me focus on one deck longer than a day or two. Usually.

I prefer Bounce, Move and Zoo/Flood lists. Those are old reliable for me and very comfortable to climb and win with. Though it usually takes me a dozen or so games for me to remember how Move actually works.

Thanos chat:

How you can win is so stupid sometimes. The left lane used to be Nexus until Leader copied my Reality Stone. I'm just happy it didn't go back to Nexus when mine revealed.

What's really amazing is that the right side was locked down on turn 2 and Sandman was dropped on turn 3. I snapped after Sandman dropped and completely ignored the Nexus until turn 6. I'm shocked they stayed in.

Also bless Sandman Ramp for not being able to fit in Cosmo or Killmonger.

So I hit Infinite this week and I've always wanted to give a deck write-up so here goes,

The ideal play is something like T1 Korg or Crawler -> T2 Zabu -> T3 Polaris, Rock Slide, Iron Lad (be careful not to play Iron Lad on Zabu if you don't have enchantress in hand) -> T4 any 4 drop and then Korg/Nightcrawler, or Miles Morales if you moved something with Polaris on T3 -> T5 Black Bolt (and move Nightcrawler/Iron Lad if Miles is in hand/maybe top of deck -> T6 IDEALLY it's Darkhawk, Stature, and Miles Morales, but sometimes Doom just does the trick if you had good early turns, this deck doesn't need to roll super high to play well, can also play something like Enchantress and Darkhawk to swing the game

Korg - just a solid card, if you have the choice between this or Crawler, play this (depending on locations) first, sticking a rock in their deck early increases the likelihood they draw that rock

Nightcrawler - another solid 1 drop, that movement ability can be useful in of itself to just surprise folks, this could be replaced by Jeff if you had it but NC really does what you need him to do.

Zabu - enables the whole deck to be really bullshit, probably cannot be replaced

Polaris - strong stat line, gives you a T3 if you didn't put Zabu down on T2, triggers Miles, allows you to gently caress with their board setup, sometimes softly (moving the -2 Ninja to clog up a lane) sometimes brutally (dragging a Zabu into No Ongoings location), great card. could maybe be replaced with like, Stegron? but Cloak could maybe cut the cheese too

Darkhawk - alas, alack, the card is great, benefitted by locations (anything that puts ish into their deck, ongoings doubled, etc), korg + rockslide, Zabu. I am not sure this could be replaced, but I think if you really wanted to try this deck, I would switch Korg for Agent 13, Rockslide for Moon Girl, and Darkhawk for Dino? this is just a thought, haven't tried it

Enchantress - the tech card, found Shang Chi was too "playing from behind" to ever really do much, tried Killmonger due to a sudden burst of bounce decks, but, kept coming back to Enchantress. Sometimes you want to play her T3 (off Zabu) to turn off their Zabu, sometimes you want to hold it until 6 to turn off their Darkhawk, Dino, Iron Man, etc. Be careful not to play on your Darkhawk or your Zabu (or your Iron Lad if they've picked up one of those abilities)

Miles Morales - one of the real tricks of the deck, cuz you have a pretty decent amount of choice on when to play it. My biggest misplays were honestly not moving something at the right time to activate Miles or forgetting to activate Miles on T6. Nightcrawler and Polaris trigger him, but so doesn't Bifrost, Strange Academy etc, keep those in mind.

Rockslide - solid card, always good to play early even if you know you won't draw Darkhawk, because for sure they are going to end up drawing at least one rock

Iron Lad - Yeah this is the expensive card here, really. Bought him and tried this deck out and shot up the ranks. I don't think he's necessary for the deck to run, White Queen is probably the replacement, but this card is just so fun, sometimes you get an Iron Lad that can move, sometimes you get a beefy Darkhawk.

Stature - what a fun card with Black Bolt, little surge of excitement whenever I drew it with Black Bolt, there is no replacement for this, unfortunately. No clue. If you did replace this you probably want to replace Blackbolt with another solid 5 drop.

Black Bolt - what an underrated card, I'm so glad it found a spot in the meta, really exciting to play, usually you will destroy a rock, but sometimes it picks off their darkhawk, in the mirror it can kill Miles or Stature, sometimes picks off a Zabu-discounted Darkhawk or Kitty Pryde if they didn't play it, no replacement if you're playing with Stature, if no Stature can be replaced, Aero probably? Could be Dino if you tech in one or two other cards

Doctor Doom - this is my "big" personal addition to the deck, though I'm sure I'm not the only one. sometimes the trick of this deck doesn't come together but you still played good stats throughout, sometimes there's a location you need to sneak cards onto, sometimes your Iron Lad grabs it and becomes a T3/4 Doom. I was shocked at how often this was a good T6 despite having a discounted Stature and Iron Lad in hand or something. Could maybe replace with Magneto, Chavez, or Leader?

You usually whanna snap on T4-5 when you can see that you'll be able to pull the trick off on T6, but there were times when I snapped T2 just because I had a perfect curve available (korg/crawler, zabu, 4 drops) and it paid off frequently. If this was helpful or anyone has any questions, lemme know. Happy Snapping.

below post reminded me, this has an unfavorable matchup against Galactus, as Polaris is your only real way to directly negate him. If you suspect Galactus hold onto Polaris, if they have nothing to move or you don’t draw it, consider retreating when they snap. You can try and beef up one spot with Blackbolt and Darkhawk but this deck is good because of how much power you can spread out. It also has a slightly unfavorable matchup to Bounce decks that are really firing, but if they low roll you will crush them.
