Just makes me wonder how long it's going to be before they start openly calling people race traitors again.

I do feel bad for the hypothetical dude who didn't know about Epstein's history, and had a documented history of hanging out with his pal Jeff that he met at the dog park. Just really unfortunate for him, and I hope Janice ends up believing his story. They were such a great couple.

I haven't thought about it much so only lightly dogpile me but I don't think we could do much wrong by making switch-ready nuke plants to deliver to industrializing nations in the global south. I mean look at how much power consumption went up in Vietnam in the last 10 years, that is an insane amount of industrialization. It's not fair to those folks to say "sorry, no cheap and easy energy to modernize and develop your country, shoulda done your industrial revolution before 1950". Greenhouse emissions are going to continue to rise as population and industrialization in those regions happen, that is just a fact, they aren't going to stop, and really they shouldn't have to. The already-got-ours countries who are concerned about climate change should offer any resources, tech, personnel, money, etc. to make that transition as green as possible, and set those nations out on the right foot with respect to energy portfolio. Unfortunately we have to fight this battle on two fronts because like yall said, lotta environmentalists just like the aesthetics of it.

Unfortunately we have to fight this battle on two fronts because like yall said, lotta environmentalists just like the aesthetics of it. I did some napkin math for USCE a little bit ago, here it is again: Here's how quickly France ramped nuclear power. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_power_in_France That's roughly 150-350 TWh from 1980-1990, so 200TWh/decade. In 2022 the US generated 2554 Billion kWh using fossil fuels. https://www.eia.gov/tools/faqs/faq.php?id=427&t=3 1 billion kWh=1 TWh So at the same rate France ramped nuclear power, or would take us 2554/200*10=128 years to replace the entire fossil fuel capacity with nuclear power. We would need to do significantly better than they did, but we're bigger and it's 2023. Vietnam is approaching 250,000 GWh, or 250 TWh. If they built nuclear capacity at the rate of 1970s France, they'd get to 100% of their current capacity in about 12.5 years. This is all napkin math, but hopefully it helps give a rough sense of scale. Also holy poo poo we use so much more power in the US.

History shows that every successful protest is, at it's heart, directed towards children getting off their school bus. Make sure that the powerful hear your voice. It is loving wild the absolute spread of reaction by police to a guy standing around with a gun in this country though. Like this dude can come intimidate elementary kids, and some other dude will get multiple cops surrounding him while he's heading off to go hunting.

There is a place for discussing gender inclusivity in public transport, but that ain't it. Of course whenever an actual social reformer comes out and says something like "women shouldn't be afraid to ride the night train, and we'll look at every possible solution" it gets spun into "crazy idiot jam grandad wants women in separate cattle cars"
