The risk the media run with this is that none of these allegations go anywhere. The ministerial code clearly has gently caress all power behind it. Everyone fixates on Johnson for flagrant breaches of conduct, but he was just the most overt and boorish about it. I blame Blair. Lying to parliament about WMDs and then facing no consequences, despite huge public outcry, began the unravelling of the gentlemen's agreement that is the UK parliamentary system. Say what you will about the parties and politicians who came before him, by and large if you were caught loving up you fell on your sword or you were pushed. They felt a need to keep up the pantomime. Blair was the first one to say "nah", and refuse to go. Those who followed him have done the same with decreasing levels of decorum.

Peeping the statistics there's 1.8mn people in the Glasgow metropolitan area and 700k in the Highlands/Islands. Seems perfectly plausible given not everyone on the Highlands/Islands speaks Gaelic.

There's probably more Gaelic speakers in London than the Highlands, if you take it as referring to the entire Goidelic group. But that's why it's important to specify absolute/relative numbers.

If you all get up and yell, it creates a scene but within 30 minutes your are all removed and things continue. If you take turns standing up you can disrupt the entire thing for the whole day.

I know a lot of people slag off social media, but if it wasn't for social media, how much of this stuff (protection of celebrity pervs - and political crookery- by the establishment) would still be going on? (And certainly there is still a lot going on but maybe not much as if we didn't have social media).

I want to hope that examples like those will encourage stricter regulations and the enforcement of currently "active" legislation, but there's always *gestures at everything* getting in the way. * This has more to do with Pizzagate nonsense than the recent discussions around Scofield.

It's clear that people in the industries know who's a creep, but no one ever does anything because you're not going to work again and will rapidly be buried under lawyers if you're the lowly contractor who calls out that a popular actor sexually assaulted you. The way the stories have been told to me, it's not quite expected to happen because that'd be really grim, but it's certainly been painted to me as accepted that there'll be things you can't do anything about unless it's really bad, and even then maybe not.
