My niece is pretty sheltered. A few years ago she was a senior in high school when I was back home visiting family and she asked me what I kept doing with the thing in the middle. She had never been in a car with a manual transmission. She also asked me why I would buy a Japanese car, because not only was/is she super sheltered, she grew up in a family (mine) that would never even think of anything that wasn't Ford.

It was nice to get away from there when I could. So I do believe that people like that exist, but I've also seen that exact post so many times I now have a fence

I will not shut up about the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers. I talk about them all the time and work them into every conversation I have. I built a shrine in my room for the yellow one who died because sadly no one noticed because she died around 9/11. Wanna see it?

When I first moved in with my college roommate I went to play a vinyl record and he expressed surprise that you drop the needle on the edge of the record because CDs and DVDs are read from the inside out. I honestly don't think many people know or care which direction CDs are read in and I think he only knew it because he was a pretty tech savvy guy, but he wasn't into record collecting and wasn't super familiar with older technology so he'd just never actually seen a vinyl album being played before. I can totally believe that not everyone knows what a stick shift is.

Also, in response to the Egyptian (guessing based on the prominence of foul) menu, I'm a regular Erika.

Some day I'd love to acquire a copy of the Monty Python album that was double-tracked on one side, so you'd get one of two recordings depending on which groove you landed in.

But I also don't want to become a Vinyl Guy so it'll probably never happen.

One of the Mad magazine super specials had a vinyl that had 8 different endings (It's a super spectacular day). Just a stunning degree of technical fuckery for a gag.
