A lot of these really point how how the British Paint Colors are absolutely not designed to be viewed in sunlight with no clouds. Also, I would like to know more about "Citroen 2cv kit car"

babyeatingpsychopath posted:A lot of these really point how how the British Paint Colors are absolutely not designed to be viewed in sunlight with no clouds. The light! It burns! Lomax is still very much around, so where better to go for info than their own website: https://www.lomaxcars.co.uk/range/ Basically, in the early 1980s when Britain had a lot of 10-year old 2CVs and Dyanes with thoroughly rotten bodies but engines, gearboxes and suspension parts with many many thousands of miles of life left in them, someone had the idea of stripping away the standard body and fitting a GRP one. Because of the 2CV's flat-twin air-cooled engine the body looks vaguely like a pre-war Morgan Three Wheeler, with the exposed cylinders poking out the front. Lomaxes have always been available as the 223 (2-seater, 2-cylinder, 3-wheeler) or the 224 (the 4-wheeler). The 4-wheeler pretty much retains the 2CV chassis and suspension 'as is', while the 3-wheeler ditches one of the rear suspension arms (the left-hand one) and moves the right-hand one to the left-hand position so the single wheel now hangs in the centreline. Obviously for the three-wheeler the 2CV's interconnected suspension has to be solid-mounted. Otherwise the engine, gearbox, final drive and steering are all stock 2CV. They weigh under half a ton, and while with 29bhp they're still not fast, they feel insane because you're so close to the ground, there's no cockpit sides and there's usually straight-pipe exhausts. Some builders have really lent into the Morgan emulation and fitted Moto-Guzzi or BMW bike engines, resulting in something with a power/weight ratio of over 200bhp/ton.

That is a great selection of cars. I think something like this would be fun to try driving but I've never seen anything that age around here other than Ford Model A or T which are neat but very industrial.

I'm not sure if BAT stuff is allowed in the thread, but Tom's Turbo Garage is selling his LS3 miata. This was a very meticulous build on youtube years ago, sad (for him) to see it go. IMO it's about as perfect as you can get, everything was "done right". https://bringatrailer.com/listing/2004-mazda-mazdaspeed-mx-5-miata-19/ https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gDMrJhpeYiE

Check the vids but I'm pretty sure he started with a MazdaSpeed turbo Miata. Yeah was a really neat build, shame to see it going. Dude has wicked attention to detail and a spotless garage, from memory almost every single component was brand new. Wonder if it means he's clearing space for another project?

Given how long the new Dakota has been in development hell and how long it took to get the Wagoneer to market, we might get its replacement but probably not that truck itself.

Not if it's built in Brazil, the chicken tax will make it non-viable for import.

As a 4 door vehicle with a tray, surely it's a passenger vehicle, not a light truck, therefore not covered by chicken tax. You know, just like the passenger Transit Connects Ford imports before ripping the back seats and glass out.
