Tomorrow, our nation will sit on the throne of the world. This is not a figment of the imagination, but a fact. Tomorrow we will lead the world, Allah willing.

Hey that's pretty cool. Guess everything will be perfectly fine. But just wondering, how many of the previous commitments have been kept?

I went 5 years booze free before Covid hit, where I sunk into a hole and became collapse aware and started drinking again. I feel like I’m never gonna be sober again, hopefully cirhosis will just take me out quicker where I can chill with the Lord or maybe the bad boy himself, Mr. Devil. With my luck AI will figure out fusion while I’m on my death bed or some poo poo

Sorry you're having a tough time, if it helps at all, the churn will be easier to deal with without an alcohol dependency. And the good times remaining are easier to enjoy.

I'm honestly surprised to see U.S. emissions going down. Efficiency standards must be more effective than I thought.

I have to laugh at the idea of fusion energy, even if we developed it yesterday, saving the planet lmao. If the idea of humans given almost limitless power doesn’t fill you with dread then you haven’t realised just how much we’ve hosed the planet already.

Are they also net emissions? A huge percentage of carbon offset programs have been found to be fraudulent or underperforming when audited. And not many are audited.

i have a potentially stupid question: when measuring how much people "emit", do we measure that by manufacturing and output or do we measure it by the actual impact of items consumed? i just woke up so i'm having a hard time phrasing this. like when the us or canada goes, "we produce [x] carbon ergo we hit our climate goals" are we counting the stuff we make or the all the stuff we actually use? i have a feeling it's the first one

correct, the end-state of all these insurance companies making big splashes is for florida or feds or ca government to step in and give them billions of dollars to "shore up the insurance industrial complex"

the end-goal is they want any declared State of Emergencies insurance to be paid for by taxpayers instead of their corporate funds, while reaping in profits under "normal conditions"
