When disney did its hard pivot away from their live action stuff in the late 70s/early 80s, that movie was p much disavowed. Didn't matter much to kid-me at all. It was fun to come back and watch it as an adult and be pleasantly surprised at how genuinely good it was. Sure, some of the acting is hot garbage but it's a pretty stellar Disney deconstruction of the sword and sorcery genre way before that sort of thing was something people wanted. E: lol MacNicol is embarrassed because his acting was loving awful in this movie but it kinda leans into the character so it works somehow. EE: Nobody bit

I guess that's supposed to be my thing now.

Today's Framed was one I was convinced on the first and second shot were from a movie I'd actually seen. The sandiness of the LA shot in frame 1 made me think it was Baz Luhrmann's Romeo + Juliet but I didn't recognise anything in the rest of the shots and couldn't even come up with joke answers for it . Turns out I was way the gently caress off. It was A Wrinkle In Time. Remember that fuckin movie?
