Some very pro-Russian but not very pro-Putin 'military experts' suggest that the drones were downed over the elite suburbs where ministers and Putin's friends live simply because that's where all the anti-air defence is, and it's basically the only really protected place in the entire country. If that's true, the drones could have targeted literally anything, including but not limited to said elite suburbs.

It's deeply ironic that among other inventions of the decadent west, #MeToo is one of the most popular targets of Russian propaganda. Women coming forward with allegations against beloved film directors, musicians, etc. are routinely labelled as liars and clout-chasers. When a Russian MP was sexually harassing female journalists some years ago, in response, the loving Duma ethics committee issued an official statement urging female journalists to wear longer skirts. And after that there wasn't a single allegation of sexual harassment against anyone in power, thus proving once again that Russia is simply the most moral country where everyone understands that a light pinch on a bum from your boss is just innocent fun.

It's pretty telling to when an alleged victim of abuse literally goes to a Country that literally loosened domestic abuse laws on purpose.

Honestly, the only foreknowledge I have of any military strikes are exclusively taking place next Tuesday, and not targeting any site within continental Europe.

Like others have said, who the hell knows. However I think it's safe to say that if the drones were domestically produced in Ukraine then they probably don't have a whole lot of them. And if they were launched from within Russia (because of range limitations) then that's extremely risky for whoever is doing it so they probably won't be doing it too often.

https://twitter.com/MedvedevRussiaE/status/1663784322480873472

Quoted because Dima has Twitter Blue and makes annoyingly long posts posted:

The UK’s Foreign Secretary Cleverly has stated that Ukraine “has the legitimate right to … project force beyond its borders to undermine Russia’s ability to project force into Ukraine itself.” According to him, legitimate military targets beyond Ukraine’s border are part of its self-defence.

The goofy officials of the UK, our eternal enemy, should remember that within the framework of the universally accepted international law which regulates modern warfare, including the Hague and Geneva Conventions with their additional protocols, their state can also be qualified as being at war.

Today, the UK acts as Ukraine’s ally providing it with military aid in the form of equipment and specialists, i.e., de facto is leading an undeclared war against Russia. That being the case, any of its public officials (either military, or civil, who facilitate the war) can be considered as a legitimate military target.

It really is mentally exhausting reading their projection. Somehow, everyone is at war with Russia, while Russia is not at war with anyone (only a very limited SMO, after all). I've mentally tuned out people like Lavrov since the caravan of peace in 2014, where at least in local media he was the figurehead for assuring the global community that there is in fact food and medical supplies in those trucks headed for DNR & LNR, not weapons and troops. And Medvedev has obviously just been a joke for the entire duration of the 2022-> war. I don't know why we even bother paying any attention to him.

Honestly, the org hosting that event is tiny. What reach it has is kind of wild (for its size) and going through it gets rather mind-boggling quickly.

Somehow this weird constellation of pro-Russian commentators somehow all interact with the guy who is the head of this org - Caleb Maupin (though he will now claim that he's merely the ideological leader, not the leader after a bunch of his former friends and members accused him of being a sex pest).

He works (worked? Not sure honestly) for Russia Today, has been on Jimmy Dore's show, George Galloway's show, cited in an absolutely unhinged article about leftist youtubers and interviewed by The Grayzone, and probably much more that I've missed despite him having what I can only describe as negative charisma.
This org was also involved in the Rage Against the War Machine event, listed as a sponsor.

The guy is also a massive anti-Semite.

Oh, and the infighting in this space is just :laffo:

Say about Putin what you want at least he's not active on loving social media. Not long ago the Idea that statespeople including clowns like Trump would willingly debase themselves in front of the world by poo poo-posting like little children on twitter would have been absolutely unthinkable. I can't put into words how much I despise this public "discourse" of unidirectional poo poo slinging between factions of chimpanzees for retweets and internet points as if lives weren't at stake. I console myself with the fact that maybe it serves as an emotional outlet for immature small minded imbeciles that would otherwise directly resort to open war

Putin's media platform of choice is TV. He used it to get to power, and the people who still believe in him are the people who still watch TV.
I guess it's much easier to control than social media. (Not that I want to sound like I'm defending the social media lunatic circus).
