No real thought put into it, just do it cuz it seems cool I recently watched Eyes of Laura Mars from the same producer and they took a John Carpenter giallo-style script and then shoehorned in a corny love story. it just barely avoids sabotaging the entire flick (you can tell it's one of those decisions where the love story element *just had to be there no matter what* and they weren't sure how to implement it when a new writer was brought in). the movie is still very good. I dunno, Jon Peters has a solid track record. Wild Wild West is awful tho
