Lol we had a robust syllabus while I was in school. It was honestly a bit much if you were studying for a science stream degree but the periodic table was in sixth or seventh grade. State Public Schools are probably going to be teaching evolution and basic civics all the same. Gives them a leg up over central board public school students. The NCERT civics book was god tier when I was in middle school. Written by big Progressives - taught us about anti imperialism, compared western conceptions of democracy with places like Japan, Mexico, Chile and etc.

When those guys were in school, the complaint about indian democracy was that it wasn't democratic because one party used to win. So They gave examples of both mexico and japan, two countries with liberal democracies where single parties used to sweep the election and implement policies. Chile was used as an example of democratic governance being overthrown when the government used it to promote socialist policies.

Brainwashed westerners: The solar panels weren't installed right and also they chinese don't know how they work and probably didn't set them up right and also they are fake and were installed by slaves and also it is killing the native population of plants and animals and also ruining the views and also they should have built something else and also solar panels aren't good and also the land they are on was stolen and also it is just a ploy to make the west look bad and also they will wash away and also china won't find the labor to take care of them and also

China is doing horrible, stupid things like increasing the nation's power output in increasingly sustainable ways. My country is doing much smarter things. Like starting to privatize the national power company. e: (less self-deprecatingly, we're being semi-politely strongarmed into doing so, it's somewhat ironically a part of why USA is going NOT NOW at Kosovo authorities)
