I got a Keychron K3 in UK-ISO layout which means it comes in nice keycap colours. I like it a lot, very sold on the ten keyless size and low-profile clackiness

I need to get a quieter keyboard for work so that it's not as obvious I'm taking notes on calls. Unless there's some plugin for teams to take out the clacky clacky Does this mean I should get silent red or black and install rubber gaskets?

I think I want to buy one of these, mainly as a fidget toy but also to actually see what switches are good for me https://www.aliexpress.com/item/32894129557.html

any recs on split keyboards that don't require layers? i got a mistel barocco and it was game changing, but i would be interested in something where i can swap switches and tenting is a little more customizable i could probably deal with a layer/toggle for F keys but general nav buttons would be nice. unfortunately most split keyboards i see are closer to the moonlander which i don't feel like adjusting to and also i want to game without remapping every single thing

how long did it take you to re-learn how to type on one of those keebs. it seems like itd be basically impossible for me but my fingers dont usually stay on the home row.

I wasn't a 'fingers on home row' guy either, just sorta typed how i typed.

The Q11 already exists as a split 75% board, just without any tenting.

its the fuckin backspace key. On regular keyboards its a stretch for the right pinky to get way up there. On the kinesis, bam, right under your thumb.

post hole digger posted:how long did it take you to re-learn how to type on one of those keebs. it seems like itd be basically impossible for me but my fingers dont usually stay on the home row. I had an absolute gently caress of a time [e- switching to split] because right after I got it, I got put on a project in a language I'm not used to and had to switch editors as well. Do not change 3 things at once. Even so, after a week I rewired my brain to hit B/6 with my left hand most of the time. A couple weeks and it felt normal. A month and a half or so and it became my absolute preferred keyboard. My back pain has gotten much better because I can sit more naturally at my desk. It's really about being able to just sit with your arms where it's most natural for you, which may not be the same as it is for me, but it's almost definitely not in the center of your body with your wrists in a weird angle Its a Rolex fucked around with this message at 23:53 on Jun 7, 2023 |

I really like my Mistel, I like the 75% layout, I'm just interested in exploring something a little fancier/possibly more customizable. I could compromise on the 75% but I would like a number row, delete key, and pgup/pgdn
