I spent way too much of my teen years on a Yume Nikki image board and thought about that game all day. I never could beat Cave Story, so maybe that's why I latched on to the easy but depressing walking simulator

The true ending is easy to get, you just have to play the final cave and boss fight a few dozen+ times. After that you'll know the level and fight so well it'll be a breeze
