The ears do not get noticeably smaller on adults, they really don't grow into them.

I should have taken a photo for content really.

Do farmers not shear their sheep for the hot weather? Driving back today I saw loads of them all chilling, lying flat out on the cool stone by this gate. They must be boiling though.

I mean, turtles aren't known for having turrets on their shells.

I like the setup where Charmander is a lizard/salamander, Bulbasaur is a frog/toad, and Squirtle is a turtle/tortoise. It fits into the "backyard animal collection" theme. Also, if you've ever seen a really corpulent bullfrog, Venusaur fits the look really well.

I always figured those were "horns" like horned toads (which are lizards not toads) have. Little ridges of bone on the head not ears anyway.

This makes me feel so vindicated as I always thought of them as frogs, since they look like frogs, but have had people tell me they must be lizards, because their name ends in "saur"

Most sheep breeds do get sheared at least annually but they could have either been done early in the season and have a bunch of wool back at this point or they're still waiting for their appointment. You're sort of at your shearer's whims for shearing.

I'm babysitting this little gremlin while his foster is at a wedding. He's an Amish puppy mill rescue that was bailed out since he was too sick for them to sell. He's almost 10 weeks old but the size of a 5-6 week old, that doesn't stop him from being a typical bitey little cattle dog pup though!

He's almost done with treatment for puppy strangles (autoimmune cellulitis) and then he needs to be checked out by a cardiologist before he's up for adoption. He's going to get snapped up so quickly!

Well, that's a marmot and it looks like a steppe landscape. I'd guess somewhere in Mongolia, either the independent country or the Inner Mongolia region of China. Either way I'd be careful, the fleas from those marmots are the original hosts of bubonic plague. Funnily enough Twitter's automatic translator (or maybe the guy himself, I can't read Japanese) incorrectly calls the animal a prairie dog and those are the main hosts of bubonic plague in North America. Sorry, not a cute reply but seriously, be careful messing with wild rodents.

Prairie dog is closer than 'giant ant' anyway
