That is some bad green screen.

Also, this series, bad as it is, at least used to be about getting a bunch of legendary action stars together. But the poster says "And Stallone", so he's probably barely in it, and the trailer makes it seem like it's basically a Statham vehicle with a couple cool costars, like Tony Jaa.

The bar was low, but I don't think it's gonna clear it.

The posters didn't.

Part 4 is the first poster (that just came out yesterday, I think?) that added the "and" caption for Stallone. It's a shift. I'm thinking he's gonna be like Mickey Rourke in the first movie, hanging out in the bar and handing out the missions.

edit: Side note, good god, these are ugly posters.

I get that. I'm just saying that if all the marketing, including the posters, are downplaying Stallone's involvement more than previous movies, he's probably not in it that much. Even this trailer focuses more on Statham.

These two things tell you all you need to know

Sylvester Stallone as Barney Ross: The leader of the Expendables. Stallone confirmed that the film would be his final appearance as Barney Ross, with Statham expecting to take over the series after his departure.[2] Due to this, his role in the film was limited.[3]

Jason Statham as Lee Christmas: The team's knife expert and second in command. [4] As Stallone was looking to pass the franchise's lead on to Statham, he did about 80% of all filming and oversaw post-production, also serving as a producer.[3]

If Stallone is biting on this one then they should do a reverse Fast & Furious where the start of each subsequent sequel kills off the leader of the previous one.

That's the disappointment at the core of this franchise. The idea of bringing all these action stars together sounds amazing but then the action sucks rear end.

Oooooooooooh!

The only way I can see a Twisted Metal live-action thing working is as like, a series of short 5-minute bits they can toss on YouTube to promote a new game. Maybe one for each character. Certainly not a 6-10 episode 40-minute show, geez. There’s not enough there.

there's not enough 'there' for 95% of all 6-10 ep shows, much less the dregs of video game adaptations that would be better off as playable

They literally had Twisted Metal Black to go off of, which is a surprisingly good story and really dark. Not to mention the success of The Last of Us. Instead they went with....whatever this garbage is. We don't even see a car! It's loving Twisted Metal!!!

The thing that Cruise and/or McQuarrie really understand is escalation so they can get away with a lot of misdirect in BTS stuff.
