It's not surprising. There's always been a palpable sense of waiting for an excuse to start lashing out against Russians "at home". The common perception is that Russians in Czechia are just mobsters, gentrifiers, rent seekers out to use their questionably obtained wealth from Russia to buy and exploit vast swathes of property to the locals detriment. Obviously that doesn't describe most Russians, but you can't underestimate the long simmering hatred that permeates society.

Like, y'all forget why Snowden is even in Russia to begin with? yes of course they do but we do not have to cheer it on or give it any kind of vocal support Also Russia loves using "there are Russians living in X place, they must be defended" as a justification for all kinds of poo poo, this is a big reason why neighboring countries are wary of this issue. But this doesn't mean you single out and scrutinize the Russians there, it means you tune your foreign and defense policy to be able to deal with that risk if it ever becomes necessary. War noob here, can someone explain why Ukraine seemed to telegraph it's counteroffensive so far in advance? I assume they only share Intel like that in ways/situations that will benefit them, so it just to gently caress with Russia and make them guess where/when it's coming? Or to force them to pump the brakes on their offensive in order to prepare for the counter?
