Is it possible to finish any of the challenges in this USI patch?
I'm trying the last compute one but even with the crew mastery and 1e4 level capstone it seems like it's a long way from where I am to what it would take to win the challenge. I'm not sure letting it idle will do it.
What is the 1e4 level capstone that people have been referring to?

The computing focused crew member's lvl 51 upgrade raises computing caps by 1e4. This is mostly useful for the final cap+ cap+ upgrades since those would otherwise be hardcapped at 40 per second.
This helps with reaching 9/9 in the computing challenge but you still need to idle to accrue the Improved Tracking bonus.

You don't actually have to get them to level 51 as you can get like 10-15 free points from elsewhere, so you'll get your 51st point at level 30 something eventually.
I managed to do computing 9 by idling overnight, synth and power 5 were both free, haven't tried base 5 yet but since I"ve unlocked the entire fourth base's layout I should probably give it a go.
E: even with a full layout I'm stalling out 3 zones short of base 5, which means it'll take awhile of grinding base 4 to get the raw stats to win I think. I'm not sure I can optimize my layout much better.
EE: I don't understand some of the crew upgrades, specifically the ones in the bottom tier that seem to scale off of two stats, but one of them is in the numerator and the other the denominator. So I guess I'm supposed to only focus on a single stat across all my crew members in order to make those scale appropriately well? Are they worth anything atm or would you need vastly more levels than we realistically have available to make them more effective than the other options?
They're very good. They're balanced around having 0 of the stat in the denominator. The ones on the left reward only using the primary stat (so very doable) and the ones on the right reward only using the secondary stat (so lategame with farming exp/warp)
You do need to be careful since some check the entire crew total whereas others check just that crew member
For base carry-- are you using base 4 multis? if you have the whole base unlocked you should be able to do it with base 4 multis + penalty reduction, with base 3 booster stacking multis.

In USI, I think I'm hardwalled at sector 43. I have CC 5/9, SP 3/5, PH 4/5, and BC 3/5, but I can't seem to push past 43A or 43B. Does anyone have a recommended build for making progress past where I am now or perhaps beating more challenges?

I was there a little while ago. What tier are your synths at? I found beam weapons set to avoid overlap got me through at orange. Maybe one kinetic cannon or missile for the other boost. A good trick is linking the damage shard and the void shard to boost all relevant damage in 43A.

I've infinited all the oranges. Red synths are taking way too long to be viable, though.

So, after way too many weekends spent fuckin around on my idle game and getting lost playing around with non-core stuff like discord integration, I hammered out some of the most pressing issues and put out a really early build if anyone is interested.
Webgl build. I probably won't be maintaining this, or at least keeping it up to date after 1.0 just because of how long the builds take.

There's not a lot of content at all right now since I've been focused on fixing issues and completing the last few systems before the main gameloop is finished, but I figured I'd get it out there for people to take a look at and provide input.

Well at the very least, the discord integration let me be the 4th member on the discord and chat. I'm a sucker for the theme so I tried it out a bit tonight since I've been looking forward to trying it out. Slow going at first but you get more knobs to fiddle with once you get the early wood/iron ressource income and unlock blueprints.

Well at the very least, the discord integration let me be the 4th member on the discord and chat. I'm a sucker for the theme so I tried it out a bit tonight since I've been looking forward to trying it out. Slow going at first but you get more knobs to fiddle with once you get the early wood/iron ressource income and unlock blueprints.
3rd member. One's a bot to handle turning bug reports into "tickets" and eventual discord integration (I kinda want to set up discord roles for different game milestones)

So, after way too many weekends spent fuckin around on my idle game and getting lost playing around with non-core stuff like discord integration, I hammered out some of the most pressing issues and put out a really early build if anyone is interested.
Webgl build. I probably won't be maintaining this, or at least keeping it up to date after 1.0 just because of how long the builds take.

Alright. I hope putting it in a code box works, I just don't want to break the page too hard.
e: if it helps, I've pushed my unbound researches to e32/e33 since exporting this save.
Ok I'm not entirely sure what kind of a problem you had with the 43A boss since it pretty much dies in a few seconds with this save.
Here are the changes I made:
1. Used salvage to get Shield Damage Synergy node in the Core section for +60% shield damage for all weapons.
2. Changed synth modules so that Laser Boost is no longer automated. I triggered it manually for the boss so it won't get the auto trigger nerf of 25%.
3. Put Battle Shard into the red slot and Damage Target Shard into blue and linked it with orange for 2x all and 3x shield damage.
4. Used unused warp essence to boost laser damage to 50/50, rest of the points into shield. Not a huge increase but a 2x to damage from there.
Overall stuff:
Remove the synth module from max power, it is useless unless you're unlocking new power boost levels. Put it into warp recharge, it will take the recharge time from 3,5 to 2,5h roughly.
I put all synth points into increasing your warp recharge, charge time went to 2h20m.
Switched to 2xbeam, 2xmissile launcher, charge laser and bomb launcher (last two could probably be a beam and a missile too). This can idle halfway up sector 44.

Idleon has some drama going on. The game has always had a P2W element, but it was never too bad. Mostly things you could buy to speed up things you could do in game or small bonuses. You never felt you were missing out on something too huge.
He introduced a new currency you can't earn in game to do a gacha system where the chase item is absolutely game changing and broken. If you're lucky, you can get it first spin, but statistically a 50% shot of getting it is $270 and there are people who have spent way more than that. Idleon has been on top sellers on steam since the update came out, but his base is pissed off. Apple will probably remove the game because he has a link to buy it on Steam/Web since they won't allow it. Game is being played in markets where gacha systems are illegal. It's now the number one game tagged as gambling on steam and has tons of negative reviews.
I'm sure he doesn't care cause he made his money, but what a way to go out.

I'm willing to wait a while to see if there's a dev response. It's weird to call it P2W since it isn't exactly a game you *can* win. Ultimately you're just paying to have less of a game, though I 100% see how this preys on people's fomo and latent gambling problems. The update as a whole seems pretty out of character from previous updates, both in terms of monetization and potential increase in "power". That alone is jarring enough to make me wonder.

Yeah, I also really liked Idle Skilling but bounced off Idleon really hard.
It's a shame, monetizing games like this can be a thorny subject at the best of times, but you should never go straight to milking your audience dry.

I know there was a guide and wiki that people would link, but it wasn't really necessary to make progress, but mostly for convenience of finding the information. Unlike a lot of games that end up needing a specific build or talent tree NGU never really had that as a requirement for progress. More "read the tool tips because it gives you info on getting by the puzzle" than anything else.

It's going really well. Apparently, from what I'm hearing, the official Idleon discord has started banning people for posting the odds of getting the rare pet or for saying the word "gacha".
