PsychoInternetHawk posted:From what I've read a large amount of Italy's population problems stems from the government stubbornly attempting to promote a conservative culture and failing to economically/educationally adapt over the last few decades. The country is essentially raising a generation of incel shitboys who suck rear end and have no life skills, so very few Italian women are staying in Italy and and/or having kids with other Italians when they could do...anything else modernity sunders yet another tradition, young men finding a woman to replace their mom while continuing to live with their mom

Field Mousepad posted:Is it me or are there like double the amount of ads on Twitter now in the past few days? The ads aren’t as bad to me as them obviously pushing lame wannabe viral tweets. Like the above mentioned “name a battle.” And it seems to really emphasize people that retweet more instead of riffing. Like I curated a timeline with a very specific sense of humor, politics, and crushing despair. Now all I get are retweeted “do birds far?” and ads for collapsible batons.

Use ublock origin, it blocks all the ads. I also have an extension called "control panel for twitter" which lets you remove all the algorithmic stuff plus gives a bunch of other options to tweak to your preference. Then I come in here to read the bad things elon and co have tweeted cause I sure as poo poo haven't seen it on my timeline. If you're dead-set on using the "for you" tab I can't help you, I hated that poo poo even before Elon took over. I only follow a couple hundred accounts, mostly friends and art accounts though.

Wamsutta posted:lol reddit is absolutely loving cooked. their manchild ceo got full blown elon mode tech bro brain If his plan is to gut expenses, quickly suck up all the excess profit before the wheels fall off, and find someone else to hold the bag then it's not a bad plan. Social media services are probably pretty good to strip for cash because the amount of venture money involved is wild but it's not a tangible product with any real deliverable. Elon's problem was buying Twitter for way too much money in the first place and getting his ego involved.

elon was only forced to buy twitter because he got his ego involved. at first he had only bought a large stake in the public company and demanded a seat on the board of directors. when he got that and they weren't sufficiently sycophantic, he came in with a big swinging dick take-it-or-leave it $44 billion offer with a contract that twitter's lawyers had drafted to be as favorable as possible to the company, it was basically as ironclad as those things get and then when he came down and realized what he'd done he tried to back out. lol, lmao
