None of the games on the Virtualboy ever got remade for other consoles, right? That's a shame, I heard that the Warioland game on it was fun, and I've always been kind of curious about the Jack Bros game.

The other 13 US virtual boy games are mostly trapped there. There is a Mario Clash microgame in one of the WarioWare games

Yeah, but Panic Bomber was ported to the system, not from the system, so I'm not sure if that counts. Also, today I learned there was a Bomberman puzzle game where the solution is STILL "Use Bomb on everything".

Alternatively just set off a bomb next to a chicken, a pig, and some potatoes and call it breakfast hash.

The VB Panic Bomber, if the VB ever got the official link cable and it supported it, would have been imo the very best version of the game. Seriously it's really good, it's just got so much depth to it. It's a really fun puzzle game just generally too

Panic Bomber and the Wario game were both excellent titles that used some of the capabilities of the system. Red Alert was so close to being great, but I think it was just too much for the VB to handle. Teleroboxer was a lot of fun, if you like Punch-Out!

Well to be honest, at least with Visual Basic I have more colours to work with and I can probably rip the sprites directly instead of thinking of a palette of 3 shades and black.

Access has so many limitations now that are manufactured in to get you onto sql server, I don’t see how it’s possible Vvvvvvvvvvv e: good point, and I get it… I work for a Fortune 500 and still occasionally use VB in the form of VBA in excel for traders sheets namlosh has a new favorite as of 22:36 on Jun 20, 2023 |

I work at a large life insurance company, and there is still a LARGE amount of work being done in old-school Mainframe. I THINK all of the back end is now just emulated? I'm not sure, I'm not involved with anything on that team. (the front end obviously is, we use Reflections by Micro Focus, used to use Attachmate up until about two year ago.) According to the settings in Reflections, it's an IBM 3278-style mainframe database, if that means anything. But we also still have a lot of data inside not just Access DBs...but 32-bit Access DBs. It's a massive PITA because we have to keep a small subset of users still on 32-bit office in their VMs to access that data until it's finally all migrated off.
