instead of killdozering two kids fighting like that one did, one of my teachers who was like 7 feet tall and muscular just kinda...separated them. like, casually walked up to the two brawling kids, put his arms between them like you'd wedge a crowbar in to pry something apart, and just pushed them apart at arm's reach. they were still swinging at each other until they couldn't reach each other anymore, and then there was that clear moment where they were weighing the pros and cons of swinging at the teacher so they could break free and resume swinging at each other, but deciding against it because he was multiple feet taller than them

In Texas, parents have to submit signed documents to schools in order for their kids to "opt out" of corporal punishment. I teach in a different state and get a little folder with each class that tells me what kid needs an epipen, what kid needs an inhaler, etc but I assume in texas you also get a folder with all the kids you can't hit

I can't remember exactly why, but I wasn't being violent or anything. I just decided not to follow the rules. Still every year into highschool they had a big yellow form you had to get filled out that said if the administration could hit you or not.

no like it's just designed to look scary they are literally incapable of biting you. the "jaws" are essentially just for dick-waving contests to win mates. the females, which have tiny, unassuming jaws and look like a stonefly, are the ones that can take a chunk of flesh out of you with them. the males are the equivalent of someone dressing up in a spooky costume for halloween, they're completely harmless despite how they look
