Friend lent us his kei truck for mountain bike race course setup this year.

Kind of annoying to get into and drive as a tall person but otherwise pretty useful. Has low range and rear diff lock which i even used after the rain last week that turned everything pretty slick. Was in 4lo all the time actually because it lets you use 2nd and 3rd instead of driving around the whole mountain in first. A full size pickup is not even really ideal for around there because it's a bunch of old narrow roads on a ski hill with tight switchbacks.

A pickup truck last sold in 1983 is very much like the kei truck, not at all like the F150.

Well as a person that has driven cab over and Kei, it is utterly hilarious that they have bigger beds and more weight capacity than the current absurd truck monstrosities - and those trucks should be legislated heavily to deter their proliferation and stupidity - but dear god they are awful otherwise.

These beautiful Kei trucks make me think of our Polish small truck wonder, the FSC Żuk; sadly, it's about 90 cm too long and 20 cm too tall to fit the Kei category, but it's still a really friendly car.

My grandfather bought one in 1973 and it's continuously been the most reliable vehicle he ever owned, even if it did have moss growing in the window seals at one point.

So obviously modern giant pickups are trying to look like semi trucks. If the length restrictions on semis in the US hadn't been lifted would we have modern COE pickups in an attempt to imitate the real deal?

I still think COE looks better on any kind of truck.
