N-1 field is interesting, & despite the absence of Kaito it's a surprisingly young field considering it's NOAH

https://twitter.com/Hi5ame/status/1671833398946545664?s=20

YUMA ANZAI! YUKI YOSHIOKA! This is maybe a more exciting field to me than the G-1? It helps that there's less competitors. Yuma Anzai vs Shiozaki? Please. Kenoh vs Yoshioka? Oh yes. Also don't sleep on El Hijo del Dr Wagner Jr in that B Block, he'll have some bangers. I think the G-1 will have higher highs, but N-1 has fewer lows. And I'm a Yuma Anzai mark.

Boy, this coming week is quiet. A DDT Korakuen, Kenoh's anniversary show, a Stardom PPV with 2 cage matches, an extremely minor All Japan show & one of the couple of Michinoku Pro trips to Tokyo that won't air for 8 days but has a pretty rad sounding main event, & a Gatoh Move offer match. Fortunate for me because I have barely watched anything in the past week. The Kenoh thing is live on Youtube so that's something worth a watch even if you're not a regular NOAH viewer.

He was actually on the FREEDOMS 13th Anniversary show, which Cagematch has listed as "co-promoted" with GCW, but it wasn't their 13th Anniversary. But it was in the middle of the GCW Japan run.

DG is letting their guys Estrella & Nishikawa be booked in AAA on the same cards with SBK & Takuma, so it doesn't seem like there's bad blood, just a business decision.

DG is the anti-NOAH in that it really uses and pushes young talent well. Losing SBK and Takuma was a big blow, but they've had a couple of great rookies debuting so it's not that bad for them. NOAH losing Okada and Yano though, lol

Yeah, that's a big deal. I think the issue before was broadcasting rights with GAORA Sports showing it on TV, but it looks like they worked that out.

Usually the content would be edited down and come back within a month or two, but it was still dumb to just have it disappear after a week.

Well what you need to do is go make yourself a nice sandwich. I won't tell you what to put on it because hey, I don't know what your tastebuds like. But once you've done that, stick this on. Kojima vs Toshiaki Kawada from 2005 All Japan. I'd say this might be the best Kojima singles match? Others might say the Triple Crown/IWGP HW Title clash with Tenzan from a week later (hell of a week for the leader of Bread Club) & that's also worth watching, but I do have a thing for sub-30 minute matches right now. The match is built around a potential torch passing. Kawada is Kawada, the only pillar left standing in AJPW. He beats the gently caress out of Kojima. But our man is all heart.

Genichiro Tenryu vs Satoshi Kojima from 2002 AJPW rules too. If you haven't seen Tenryu's post-NOAH split All Japan stuff, he brings it hard, it's remarkable & really loving good fun.

There's also a 1998 G1 match with Kojima vs Hashimoto which is fantastic, Hashimoto was apparently a mentor to Kojima, & Kojima described him as his favourite person in a tweet that always stuck with me. There's also a later match, 2003, which was in All Japan rather than New Japan but I'd also recommend checking it out.

Hope that's a good starting spot for Kojima. I didn't link it but the Kojima vs Tenzan match from February 2005 is a fantastic match, but it's on the longer side, I think everything I linked here is under 30 minutes.

DDT starting in roughly 90 minutes and the card looks pretty great. Doi will make Masada look great, Nick Wayne makes his debut and Harashima/Fujita should be good if Fujita can turn off D T.A mode. Tag title match could be pretty iffy but the main event should rule, YOSHIHIKO has worked really well with both guys in the past.

quote:

DDT “WHAT ARE YOU DOING 2023”, 25/06/2023
Tokyo Korakuen Hall

0. Dark Match: Yuki “Sexy” Iino, Danshoku “Dandy” Dieno, Toru Owashi & Yuni Vs Akito, Soma Takao, Kazuma Sumi & Rukiya
1. Special Single Match: Naruki Doi Vs Takeshi Masada
2. Yukio Sakaguchi, Saki Akai, Hideki Okatani & Sanshiro Takagi Vs Ryota Nakatsu, Yuki Ishida, Yusuke Okada & Yuya Koroku
3. Special Single Match: HARASHIMA Vs Minoru Fujita
4. International Special Single Match: Tetsuya Endo Vs Nick Wayne
5. Special 6-Man Tag Match: Yuji Hino, Jun Akiyama & Makoto Oishi Vs Kazusada Higuchi, Masahiro Takanashi & Antonio Honda
6. KO-D Tag Team Titles: Daisuke Sasaki & MJ Paul Vs Yuki Ueno & Toi Kojima
7. DDT Extreme Title – 3 Way Dance: MAO Vs Kazuki Hirata Vs Yoshihiko

It’s only fitting that the Survival 3 Way main event is now called the 3 Way Dance. Shunma Katsumata will be in attendance to watch over MAO, Kazuki Hirata and Yoshihiko all fighting for the DDT Extreme Title he had to vacate. He also had to vacate the KO-D Tag Team Titles as well remember but it seems he is only the “special observer” for the main event.

The full card for “WRESTLE PETER PAN 2023” will be revealed at the end of the show.
