I couldn’t decide whether the Bruce simping for Selena subplot was good or not. But it had its moments.

Can the first part of season 3 be skipped/dropped entirely? I enjoyed the rest of it, but dropped off the entire series in S03E02.

I like Selena spurning Bruce because he’s a boring, emotionally-stunted rich weirdo with no hobbies other than being Batman.

The latter half of HQ S3 explored a lot of the harmful and idiotic tropes of the Batman ethos and took a lot of the piss out of it. Batman is the architect of his own misery and I'm glad a canon source, even one that barely qualifies, finally said it.

It's too bad the first half of HQ S3, again, really sucked.

So what you're saying is it's a bit disappointing but most people will be fine about it. Cool, thanks!

If you're coming into the series cold I'd honestly recommend watching the Valentine's Special *before* starting S3 - it's technically meant to follow S3 but it's silly and fun and it'll get you through the terrible parts.

Pretty sure this is canon to BTAS at the very least.

I just love how Ghost Pirate Captain, the boys, and everyone else assumes that if you have a ghost problem, you need a ghost expert to do some magical thing or offer some instructions on how to deal with it. Brock shows up and just physically attacks the apparition, sending him overboard.

"Oh, well we could've done that!"

The only thing funnier than that line is Brock responding by grabbing Pirate Captain's throat without even looking.

That's just the overarching concept behind playing by the Ghost Pirate Rules. You must assume that a suspected ghost is a ghost that, while it can interact with the world of the living, the world of the living cannot interact with a ghost

I mean yeah now it is pretty gross and illegal and I am not advocating it at all. I am stating the world and peoples of that time are different from the present and good luck trying to find something close to the good/bad moral compass of fiction because everyone in charge is a rich and involved in some pretty skeevy stuff that does not fly by our standards.

Like the only heroes maybe are the small burgoinging middle class and people into the grass roots of liberty which at this time is still developing and taking root.

Not too belabor this too much but this is a deeply ahistorical take. To take one moral compass we still adhere today, abolitionism, which was the cause celebration for the Haitian revolution, has always being a constant thorn in slave holders feet throughout history.

It's a very crude take on the whole thing, I am not an expert and this probably also isn't the place to discuss it in any depth. My main point being was poo poo isn't so simplistic and the past is complicated.
