What’s the minimum depth they could be buoyant at, be rescued at, and the hatch could be opened immediately without depressurization?

My understanding is that even if they were found right now they’d still run out of air while depressurizing. So it’s suffocation or the bends.

The inside of the cabin would be 1 atmosphere, they don't need to depressurize.

Groversub is a goon project to design a sub that never came to fruition.

The submarine murderer was helped by a goon but not a goon themselves.

Groversubmersible collapsed on Sunday and they've been goo for days.

The inside is at atmospheric pressure. Or it’s supposed to be at atmospheric pressure anyway.

Anushka Patil

The submersible pilot’s spouse is descended from a famous couple who died on the Titanic.

Wendy Rush, the wife of Stockton Rush, the OceanGate chief executive who was piloting the submersible that disappeared Sunday during a dive to the Titanic wreckage, is a descendant of two first-class passengers who died when the ocean liner sank in 1912, archival records show.

Ms. Rush is a great-great-granddaughter of the retailing magnate Isidor Straus and his wife, Ida, two of the wealthiest people aboard the Titanic for its first voyage. Mr. Straus, born in 1845, was a co-owner of Macy’s department store.

Ms. Rush, born Wendy Hollings Weil, married Stockton Rush in 1986, according to a New York Times wedding announcement. Her LinkedIn page says that she has participated in three OceanGate expeditions to the Titanic wreckage in the last two years; that she serves as the company’s communications director; and that she is a longtime board member of the company’s charitable foundation.

Ms. Rush could not immediately be reached for comment for this item.

If Wendy Rush gets mysteriously murdered before Stockton is rescued, he'd have the perfect alibi.

Also, very sad Gordon Lightfoot is no longer with us to commemorate the tragedy in song.

It's not uncommon for people to become secluded while experiencing the loss of a close family member, not long after the first stage of grief where you attend a Blink182 concert and use the tragedy as a means to get laid

Difficulty level: There is no hatch, they are sealed in by bolting in one end with 17 bolts.

- Communication system was text based because CEO found voice coms annoying.
- Communication system went down so frequently that it took them hours to realise there might be a problem.
- CEO mentioned that one of the rules they broke in order to be innovators was the laws of physics.
- It's painted white/grey and barely floats on sea level making it almost impossible to spot in the open ocean.

So if they happened to surface it would be uncontrolled and it would kill them, right?

A controlled ascent is 8 or so hours?

And even if they survived the ascent and were on the surface of the water they still only have x amount of oxygen because they cant open a hatch or anything.
