Also, check if there are any pools nearby with hydrogymnastics classes. That stuff changed my life from pain medication to being "fine" most of the time and not needing those anymore.

In the US, you would see your primary care physician first. They would ask you questions about when/how it started, and then either order something like x-rays or maybe an MRI, or refer you to a neurosurgeon or perhaps some other specialist, depending on what they think the root cause is. I don't know how things work in Japan, but in the US many specialists only accept referrals, so you can't just call their office and try to make an appointment.

I'd say it might be worthwhile to see a GP first and get their suggestion as to what specialist would be best. It would depend on whether or not the onset of the pain was sudden or if it gradually built up over time, whether it is localized to a specific spot, whether you have a previous history of back problems or injuries, etc. Probably an orthopedic surgeon or a neurosurgeon or maybe a neurologist?

I hope you are able to get it treated soon, so you can get some relief.

No. This is Japan so any pain meds they give tend to be pretty weak.

It uh, didn't work out. I think I may have legitimate PTSD from restaurant work. It was a front of house job and should be easy, but I just started spotting red flags everywhere and soul told me to move on. Incredibly upscale breakfast dining with super bougie management that threw me with a lady who had just been hired who wasn't trained herself as my trainer, but all of the workers tell you that you have to be on your A game or you'll get your rear end chewed by management for not doing it right. It's a lose-lose situation. Being trained by someone who was also literally just hired and doesn't know things right, only to have hyper micromanaging supervisors come behind you and tell you that you're doing it wrong. They had "corporate" in there watching what they were doing, and I was being told to do things one way by him and another way by the regulars and "we just do this because he's here watching us."

I've just experienced too much of that crap in my 11 years of restaurant work, and I cannot do it anymore.
