I don't know if it would be better for Wagner to continue marching or entrench in the city. If Wagner marches it will continue to freak out Putin and the Russian military and make them look weak, which could gain more allies for Wagner. If Wagner entrenches then the Russian military has a major problem. They lose a key logistics hub while Ukraine continues it's counter-offensive. Wagner may have light forces but placing them in buildings will help protect them and Russian will be very wary/reluctant to blow up their own cities. They would need to send in their own light forces and do building to building fighting, with civilians in the way.

Can someone who has a better understanding of the situation than I do, please explain the likelihood of this leading to (1)the Russian state imploding into anarchy or (2)nukes somehow getting lose or flying? Both are pretty unlikely, right? This seems like kind of a big deal but the various news websites seem to be treating this as just another piece of international news, which has me puzzled? Even if those are both unlikely, this seems like a Bigger Deal than the major news outlets are treating it?

The fact that Prigozhin has gotten this far and isn't dead in a ditch while Russia is in the middle of war has immense comedic value though.

I'm not sure I buy Prigohzin stance that he's just after Shoigu and is upset at how incompetently the war is being run (although that is probably part of it). Let's say he accomplishes removing Shoigu then what? I can't really see Putin being happy with this insurrection and letting him return back to the front like nothing happened.
