Part of me acknowledges that paywalling a feature and not giving a good way to grind currency out as a Bad Thing...but another part of me feels, I don't know, "allergic" to the "fanbase" response? I think it stems from a Flash game I played a while back, where the devs introduced a lockbox with a premium, and the playerbase *freaked* over it. We're talking thread after thread, and endless bitching about the devs being like EA (because of course).The devs eventually relented on it, but I feel like the damage was done in my mind. Devs made a bad call, and the players ended up looking like whiny babies to me. Not to mention there seems to be a group of people with an axe to grind against the IdleOn Dev because they got banned or something. And the usual rumors getting pushed around as fact we might be seeing in this very thread. It's a mess. Maybe I'll take a break or something lest I get wrapped up in idle game drama of all things. (Not the dev.)

Yeah, it’s not as if paid loot boxes is a new bad thing. We all know it’s predatory and anyone adding them to a game will likely know the reaction that will come. And probably doesn’t care.

Lootboxes can be fine, but almost no one does them well. A good lootbox system should be entirely limited pool once you have something there is 1 less in the pool so with enough draws you can't draw. Then you have to have enough free currency that it's reasonable for a F2P character to have 80%+ of all draws completed. Balancing them is insanely hard and I've run into maybe 3-4 games total that did it well. At that point though you just have an RNG loot distribution system with extra steps. God I can't imagine the community fallout over mentioning it if worth it, because of how often they are abused. The only possible way now is a complete joke item and making it clear it's a parody and no way to buy with real money and even then I suspect it's not worth making.

Being able to roll planets into weirder and weirder versions is the funniest part but dubiously useful. 4* Matrix was pretty wild at the end, and the new species are pretty great. Especially Ghast with inheritance for Swift. Collecting Servants and Skilled Servants is a good break from collecting Stones/Artifacts. The top end of the gacha in this case is probably the biggest "purchasable" bonus in the game by a wide margin. Adding it at all seems like a mistake, and makes putting it behind any sort of monetisation look like the greediest of greedy greeds. But people are also using the event to complain about when they were banned for cheating or make wild accusations about the dev's political affiliations which is a strange move at best.

Does Evolve go off your system's clock for determining when events are? I didn't realize the solstice event was about to start when I started a 4* run and I'm pretty sure I won't have enough thermite made before the end.

Yes it does* Some events don't work correctly though like Halloween and Easter which add special collectibles and bonus gifts. Unsure if Solstice does but things generally work between updates. You can get all of the cumulative level bonuses, but Acumen is harder than the others to complete. Theoretically you can start getting Mastery 3's, but even the easiest ones will take about a month even with the Reconstitution Specialist's help. And you can't get the Reconstitution Specialist's help with that if you want to farm Warp Essence at the same time, so realistically it's likely closer to a month and a half?

Feeling good because I finally reached the end of the available content in an incremental. Dodeca Dragons really clicked with me for some reason and though the last couple of days where just waiting to get the dodecahedrons required for the final upgrade it was a neat experience and I'll keep an eye out for future updates I guess! Time to find something new.

I tend to go through long (1-2 years) periods of not playing any idle games and then get really into them for a few weeks, and apparently right now is this year's "few weeks" and I just discovered USI, so. I'm actually enjoying it a lot, although I'm kind of stalling out in sector 19; I might just need to leave it running for a few days to max out some of the T2 materials so I can go nuts with synth module upgrades.

Evolve Idle: Playing with custom races after all the recent changes and 4* Eldritch Genus + Mimic for Small + Swift, Fiery, and Slaver has led to probably the most powerful species yet, if you haven't gotten to try it. 4* Eldritch is mid-late game unlock but well worth it even at no-to-3* for the Thralls you get - 4* only needed for max power Psychic. in unnamed space idle I feel like I'm missing something. I cannot seem to do these challenges really. I have all the way up through orange synths fully maxxed and relaxed and working on red now but I cannot seem to beat the 4th and 5th of the synth challenges. Same with the power ones I can't beat the 4th and 5th. Bases I'm stuck on 2/5 and computing is 2/9. SOS send help. I am currently on wave 41 and basically grinding it out there.   have this as my setup. I don't even have the crew stuff unlocked and I feel like I'm playing wrong somehow. SOS plz help
