Yeah without anything to replace it, what you're saying is that you're glad that a lot of artists will no longer be able to support themselves off of their art. A friend of mine is basically only able to pay rent and live a comfortable life because of the extra work they get off of commissions from internet perverts. Apparently no one pays like furries do, and they tend to even tip. As opposed to every other job making art, which is "do work for us for free and eat dirt and then thank us for the privilege, you slime."

Yes but the upside is they don't have to make furry porn anymore.

Seems like arguing that AI takes jobs from artists and then not supporting an artist because he kind of used AI is a weird self fulfilling prophecy.

"AI might ruin artists' livelihoods, but they will be compensated with the dignity of no longer producing degenerate art for perverts" is a take, I guess.

SPOILER ALERT: most furry porn artists are also furries and don't consider themselves "debased"

Interesting take on the ultimate origin of LLM-derived material today. Didn't expect Onstad to pivot like that.

Got one more strip before this arc ends actually. Maybe it will take a Milne Magic Realism turn.

NICE PETE: And then you apologized. No one respects a man who apologizes for himself, unless he has irreversibly breached our most sacred covenants, and truly recognizes his transgression. I would surely prefer an explanation of your behavior to an empty apology that deafens the whole world to the sacred power of speech. ME: I...I apologized because that’s how most folks speak. NICE PETE: And I can understand that. But hiding in the herd, the wolf will still find you. To even be among the herd is to betray yourself, to admit you cannot stand alone.

What's the best way of rereading achewood? I went through most of what was there while at a lovely job in -09, but I never checked out the blogs. Is there some smart way of check everything out in chronological order? I've got a boring summer gig.

Honestly the website is pretty ideally set up for that now, it's even got links to each blog post under the strip that is closest to it chronologically.
