They weren't dropped or snagged, just general use. The problem is that the shroud on both the plug and the socket are generally way too thin and the connector pad (for lack of a better term) is usually extremely thin too leading to it bending or breaking very easily. I have a bunch of devices like phones and emulator handhelds that I have to wrap the cord around in order to force the cord sideways in order to make contact on the pad. Even Mini USB was better in this regard for only a little bit of extra real estate. I will say though, when they're new, a micro USB does feel more satisfyingly connected.

I've had to join a discord with a verification wait time before you can access anything of a day to get a singular file for a mod, not the mod itself, just, a singular file, buried somewhere the gently caress away in what is basically an unrelated server but required by the mod itself to function fully, split off due to the contributor for that file not wanting anything they make put on nexus. loving modder drama is the stupidest poo poo. And god help you trying to fix an issue your having with a mod, discord is not the loving place for this poo poo arhg it pisses me off so much and has become loving endemic

Every website is designed for mobile browsing and even if you view it on a desktop PC, all the content is in a slim column in the middle with huge chunks of totally wasted space on either side.

I don't understand why a reddit-style open-your-own-forum but with classic vBulletin isn't more popular. Other than being a very old-school thing wouldn't it be much better for small/medium communities than reddit/discord/FB groups?

Micro-USB is poo poo if whatever you're plugging in might move more than a micron during use (like far too many of my son's gadgets), but C is also proving lovely over time - I accidentally nudged my laptop very slightly and it suddenly decided it wasn't going to charge any more. Fixed it eventually, but drat.

I can't even google for quick tech support fixes because the first 20 pages are the same bullshit sites (probably run by the same people) who give you the same "fixes" for EVERY problem that won't actually fix anything. I'm now getting this attitude more and more at work too. "Well we can't possibly document every tiny detail of the software, it says right in the documentation to come on slack and we'll help you through it, we're always here and always willing to help" Like it's cool for me to be blocked from 2 to 70 hours on an unanswered slack question because gathering together architecture documents and then clicking "make javadoc" spending 3 minutes filling in blanks and dumping that poo poo into a wiki is just goddamn impossible. It's such a loving cop out and of course they're not really always there or willing to help either. In a year they'll tell me the guy who wrote it has of course left the company and it's depreciated and when I rage quit and come back again in 5 years the poo poo will still be in production.
