It's too bad the original Exile trilogy requires 256 colors because the other requirements are System 7, 2 megs of free memory, and an '030, all of which you have.

It's funny that it even exists instead of just having a button on the monitor like every other sane company had.

Apple monitors only have one button (the power button).

Would you put a degauss button on a machine whose floppy drive doesn't have an eject button? :D

You're supposed to put the monitor icon in the trash can to degauss.

I’d put the degauss button where the floppy eject button should be.

Every electronic device should have a degauss button. Even if it’s unnecessary.

I used to have a really cool Intel dual P3-866mhz motherboard that I ran BeOS on but the voltage regulator failed and cooked the CPUs :(

Flashbacks to the days of manually setting processor affinity because games didn't yet speak multiple cores and would throw all kinds of weird game play errors if you tried to run them on more than one core.

Flight Simulator X was an interesting one. The Flight Sim series was always developed with the next generation in mind, only they were expecting single-core CPUs to just get higher and higher clock speeds. As a result, it runs like crap on modern systems unless you spend hours screwing around with ini files.

Lockheed Martin bought the code base and turned it into their serious simulation product, Prepar3D. They fixed that problem and offloaded more work to the GPU, but then you’d have to give money to Lockheed Martin and pinky swear not to use it as a home entertainment product.

I know I remember doing this, but I can't remember what game i played that required it. It was either a Source Engine game or something like Fallout 3

Dual core fiercely messed up some early Unreal engine games. I remember playing the tutorial of Deus Ex and the game ran at 10% of normal speed but I could also jump infinitely high.

Fallout 3 used to crash all the time on 64 bit systems with more than 4GB RAM. I don’t think Bethesda ever fixed it but there was a fan patch that worked well enough.

Deus Ex is not only a fantastic game but some the exploits/bugs are great

No you can’t climb this wall. Oh yeah, what if I stick a bunch of gas grenades on it and hop my way up?

Visited a Fallout 76 C.A.M.P. (a player-built location) recently and it was waaaay up on a monorail pylon with cleverly-positioned wall-mounted shelves you had to platform on to get up.

I hated it.
