Is Twitter going to pull out of its current death spiral? I know we're all cheering for it to crater in the most spectacular way, but the way failures usually go is things deflate slowly. Basically, can they stabilize things back at just "lovely", or is this the finale we've all been waiting for?

Short answer: no While I think they're inferior to the purpose, I think if this break/policy/whatever keeps going for a few days, you're going to see a bunch of non-politics/non-news communities figure out how to make-due on Instagram, TikTok, or elsewhere. Music/film twitter will probably figure out how to create a few 'fan' accounts on Instagram to congregate around? Maybe sports twitter will take the same approach? But overall the problem is once Twitter starts bleeding users, it's going to just keep going. That not only makes the site less interesting for its current base, but also puts even more pressure on Elon to come up with some magic trick that's going to pay the loans off because advertisers will exit even faster.

I used to sell a fair bit of work on Twitter. it wasn't fetishy it's just where I was and where I advertised that id do it. it all dried up by the start of 2022 onwards. I wasn't that good anyway

No. Twitter will continue to circle the drain while Lemon tries to value engineer his way out of this (he can't). Eventually there's going to be some big social  thing that people miss because Twitter loving sucks, and then whatever-comes-next will utterly incinerate them <6 months.
