He said climate change will easily be conquered with human spirit and compassion, that we will continue making the world a better place and that we shall venture out and voyage the stars and expand our civilization for millions of years. What a charming and handsome young man. You guys should watch him and learn a thing or two Wow, thank you for this recommendation! Just watching this particular video clip (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fSC5rj0fdrY) was particularly insightful. There are a lot and cheap effective things we can do to fight climate change! Like his guest Bjørn Lomborg points out, hydraulic fracturing enables for a much cheaper and greener alternative to coal. If we were serious about fighting climate change, we would spread this technology far and wide wherever we could! Truly, things really aren't that bad yet - in fact, I personally spoke to the scientists, and things are actually getting better! - and I am thankful that you shared this intellect with us today!

Instead of pointlessly debating with each other, we need the climate specialists to agree with the economists and follow their lead, it’s the only way to turn this out of control freight train around

just asking questions, but has anyone actually seen a carbon dioxide? also, didn't they used to just call it carbonic acid? i guess the scientists musta workshopped it and changed the name at some point, when people wised up and realized there's no such thing as an acid gas.

hey get this doomer bullshit, you know how paleolithic cave art has been lasting for tens of thousands of years?nature's healing lol posted:In 2001, the authorities in charge of Lascaux changed the air conditioning system which resulted in regulation of the temperature and humidity. When the system had been established, an infestation of Fusarium solani, a white mold, began spreading rapidly across the cave ceiling and walls.[36] The mold is considered to have been present in the cave soil and exposed by the work of tradesmen, leading to the spread of the fungus which was treated with quicklime. In 2007, a new fungus, which has created grey and black blemishes, began spreading in the real cave. well nothing lasts forever right? This is not happening in only one cave. Adieu.

So does reading this thread make me some kind of depressed sicko dragging other people down, or is it only posting that does it? I hope the people who don't post here and complain about it being an unhealthy place are reading. Not just because of the irony of that! I want them to know how I'm enjoying life when I'm not posting about the end of our world. Out of work I like weed and videogames, loving, music, and getting drunk and telling people that our way of life is going to end and there'll be increasing waves of mass death sooner than we think. It's a good life but I don't get enough complaints about it on the internet.

I have never witnessed firsthand the ravages of war on my loved ones, nor the effects of starvation, illness, disease, and rot. I mean, I've had to work a lot, and that sucks, but in terms relative to the vast majority of human experience and history, I've lived a tremendously fortunate and long life. Literally so rude to whine about that.

It's more about the subject or general consensus of the thread than anything that is actually posted in it. "Climate Change is going to be terrible and is unstoppable." This thread represents that anxiety or worry here on Something Awful. When people don't like that truth they are going to deal with it in a variety of ways but most types of people just want to shut the topic down entirely and it doesn't matter how it's being discussed.
