What worked for me was setting the background FPS to 1, starting the conversation, alt+tabbing till they yell (something they never did before), and running after the barricade with them. This doesn't reset the dungeon at all. But since it worked for me and several other people on Reddit, I decided to share it here to maybe help someone else.
