And I've already seen a loony anti-vax "doctor" calling it a vaccine death. I'd never even heard of the band.

Polaris is one of the few /r/metalcore hype bands that actually warrants the priase imo. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=33BblvqmwLc Absolutely horrible news. Can't say I ever followed the band particularly closely but I've been digging through some of Ryan's YT videos and he seemed like such a genuinely nice (and insanely talented) person.

Jesus. 26 is WAY too young. That's so sad. kumba posted:The Mortal Coil is in my top 5 core records ever and this absolute GOAT somehow came out in 2017 I vividly remember listening to this for the first time and being utterly blown away. (Someone here posted Polaris' bandcamp link ) Absolutely love Sonder and it's an absolute mainstay on my workout playlist.

It's probably my favorite album ever and they have also probably become my favorite band.

I had only heard a few of their tracks but my GF is a fan, so I went to see them and ALPHAWOLF last year. Not really knowing the songs didn’t matter. They absolutely crushed it. They basically ran on, slammed for an hour and ran off. Absolutely sick. This is terrible news.

It's kind of amazing hearing Greg fitting into place in this band. His vocal style is a little different than it was in Dillinger, it almost sounds like he's trying to let Keith's style seep in a little bit and I think it's loving awesome e: specific example, the screamed and clean parts in the chorus of Sacrificial Participant really remind me of Dillinger vocals, but the almost-spoken-word thing Keith used to do shows up about 13 seconds into the track and it just sounds right Snow Cone Capone fucked around with this message at 16:00 on Jul 7, 2023 |

ETID definitely feels like the most dominant gene of the three main bands represented. Which is great! But I would love to hear them sound more Dillingery or more ENDy in the future too.

A little out of my taste purview....but I just ran across 'Polaris' a few hours ago. Some downright awesome riffs and all around great guitar work. Sucks to hear that one of their members passed. They kick rear end.

i would not be too terribly surprised if TAS call it quits before long. vincent is 40, how long does he want to tour out of a van. replacing a drummer after 18 years is a bitch. devin and griffin have kids now. recon mike only just joined the band, poor bastard, lol. the It Comes In Waves/Failure Will Follow pairing seems like what the band wants to be doing and they put out Slow Decay and Step Into The Light as the "dayjob" albums (not that they're not good, they rule). who knows. sure am glad i have better lovers now with ETID gone and (possibly) TAS winding down
